Started a new project out in Cairo, IL this week — and this one needed immediate attention before anything else.

This porch and roof system were failing structurally, so before demo even begins, we had to step in and engineer a full temporary shoring system to safely carry the roof load. Built a custom braced support frame and lifted the structure to take the weight off the existing deck.

No shortcuts on this one — safety, structure, and doing it right the first time.

Next step: full tear-off and rebuild of the porch, stairs, and framing system from the ground up.

This is the kind of work you don’t always see behind the scenes, but it’s what separates a proper rebuild from a patch job.

By the time we were called in, the interior showed clear signs of moisture impact—staining, sagging/drooping ceiling areas, and cracking that spread through multiple surfaces.

Crawl Space Encapsulation Complete ✔️

Another crawl space sealed up and protected. This project included a full encapsulation system to isolate the home from ground moisture and outside air.
We installed a reinforced v***r barrier across the entire crawl space floor, wrapped and sealed the support piers, and ran the liner up the foundation walls to create a continuous moisture barrier. The result is a cleaner, healthier crawl space that helps protect the structure above.

Just for fun. I was messing with AI art generation to help me with some flyers. Check them out. They're not half bad but it's hilarious when they mess up . Like apparently we're 🦝coontractors. 🤣🤣🤣

The flyers were just as funny. Like the ai kept putting ac head units in every picture including outside with condenser. Here are some of the better flyers. Just couldn't get our logo done correctly.

Before and AFTER!

Phase two complete on this bathroom and bedroom update. We installed a new tub, finished drywall throughout, removed popcorn ceilings, and repaired a major ceiling crack in the hallway—you'd never know it was there. Last phase, we built a custom walk-in shower with hexagon tile, and we're looking forward to coming back to finish the flooring.

EXPERIENCED DRYWALL FINISHERS NEEDED – 2–3 WEEK PROJECT (SOUTHERN IL)

DeadTree LLC is bringing in experienced drywall finishers to help complete a large custom residential project near Mounds, Illinois

All drywall is already hung.

Scope includes:
• Taping
• Mud work (multiple coats)
• Sanding
• Ceiling finishing on two floors
• High vaulted ceiling (approx. 24’ height)
• Level 4 finish throughout
• Select Level 5 smooth areas

This is a 2–3 week production push to get the project across the finish line.
Pay:
$200–$300 per day, depending on experience and production level.
Paid as independent contractor (1099).

Bonus Consideration:
Experience with: • Spray gun application
• Priming and painting
• Level 5 skim work
• Working at height (scaffold)

We are looking for:
Skilled finishers only (not entry-level)
Clean, efficient, production-minded
Comfortable working at height
Reliable and able to show up daily
Able to move and keep pace
