It’s Friday, the weekend is finally here... which means it’s time to catch up on laundry, wash the cars, and get the house clean for the week ahead.

But if you’re living in Southwest Florida, you might notice your weekend chores feel a lot harder than they should be.

That is because the intensely hard water running through our local grid or private wells is actively fighting against you. Here is exactly how it’s quietly ruining your weekend routine:

The Laundry Fade: Hard water contains minerals like calcium and magnesium that can trap dirt and soap scum in fabric fibers. As a result, your towels might feel stiff and scratchy, and your favorite clothes may look dull and faded after just a few washes.

The Glassware Film: Have you ever taken your dishes out of the dishwasher only to find them covered in cloudy white spots or a stubborn film? This residue isn't food; it's mineral scaling that forms as the water dries.

The Soap Waste: Hard water makes it difficult for soap to lather properly. Consequently, you may end up using up to three times as much laundry detergent, dish soap, and body wash as necessary to achieve cleanliness.

You shouldn't have to struggle with your own tap water to keep your home clean.

At All Around Water Service, LLC, Tyler and Joel build custom-calibrated water softening and filtration systems designed specifically to neutralize SWFL's harsh water chemistry. The result? Brighter laundry, spotless dishes, softer skin, and appliances that actually last.

Hey Southwest Florida Homeowners!

When we are out in the field servicing wells, installing reverse osmosis systems, or tuning up water heaters across Lee, Charlotte, and Sarasota counties, we get a lot of excellent questions face-to-face.

Because local water chemistry is so unique right here in SWFL, there are plenty of common misconceptions floating around. Today, we wanted to pull back the curtain and give you straight, honest answers to the Top 3 Questions we hear every single week:

Q1: "I'm on city water. Doesn't that mean it's already softened?"
The Answer: No, it doesn't. Local municipal plants do an excellent job treating water to make it legally safe to drink by filtering out harmful bacteria. However, they do NOT remove the hard minerals. City water in our area is still heavily packed with calcium and magnesium. Left untreated, these rock-like minerals will rapidly build up scale inside your water heater, ruin your plumbing fixtures, and dry out your skin.

Q2: "Why does my water only smell like rotten eggs sometimes?"
The Answer: It usually comes down to usage and temperature. Sulfur-reducing bacteria thrive in stagnant water. If a guest bathroom shower sits unused for a few days, or if your traditional water heater tank has a heavy layer of sediment sitting at the bottom, the gas builds up fast. When you finally turn on the tap, you get a massive blast of that awful odor before it temporarily clears out.

Q3: "How often do I actually need to add salt to my water softener?"
The Answer: As a general rule, check it once a month. You always want to keep your brine tank filled about 4 to 6 inches below the top line, ensuring the salt stays completely above the water level inside the tank. Letting the tank empty out completely means your system won't be able to regenerate, letting harsh, raw hard water slip right back into your home's appliances.

Myth vs. Reality: Why off-the-shelf water filters just don’t cut it in Southwest Florida.

THE MYTH: "The water systems sold online or at big-box retailers work the same in every state."
THE REALITY: Water chemistry varies significantly based on your local geography. A standard, mass-produced system is not designed to manage the unique, heavy combination of sulfur, iron, and intense calcium found right here in Southwest Florida.

Think about it this way: a generic filter designed for a home in the Midwest has no idea how to handle the brutal well water or heavily chlorinated city water running through Cape Coral, Fort Myers, or Sarasota!

When you install a cookie-cutter retail system, it often clogs prematurely, fails to eliminate that infamous "rotten egg" smell, and leaves your expensive appliances vulnerable to mineral scaling.

To effectively protect your plumbing, your appliances, and your family's skin, you need a custom-calibrated local system. At All Around Water Service, LLC, we build and fine-tune water conditioning systems tailored specifically to your exact neighborhood's water profile.

Stop settling for a "one-size-fits-all" guess. Get the exact protection your home deserves!

Ever poured a glass of water and noticed tiny bubbles floating inside?

Many homeowners assume something is wrong with their water, but that's not always the case.

Tiny air bubbles often result from air trapped in the water supply. If the water clears up after a few seconds, it's usually just air escaping.

However, if cloudy water becomes a regular occurrence, it may be worth having your water system checked.

At All Around Water, we help homeowners understand what's happening with their water and provide solutions to keep it clean, safe, and reliable.

Water chemistry changes fast in Southwest Florida!

Did you know the water profile in Cape Coral can be completely different from North Fort Myers or Sarasota? Because local water varies so much within just a few miles, cookie-cutter retail systems constantly fail to get the job done.

Your home deserves a custom solution, not a generic box filter. At All Around Water Service, LLC, Tyler and Joel build custom-tailored systems designed specifically for your neighborhood's unique water chemistry.

Your appliances work hard every day, but how long should they really last?

Water quality can play a bigger role than most homeowners realize.

Common appliance lifespans:
Water Heater – 8–12 years

Ice Makers / Coffee Machines – 5–10 years

Hard water and mineral buildup may affect efficiency, performance, and long-term wear.

That’s why better water quality can help support your appliances and reduce unnecessary buildup over time.

At All Around Water, we help homeowners improve water quality to protect the systems and appliances they rely on every day.

Ever wonder why your soap doesn’t lather properly?

It may not be the soap; it could be hard water.

Excess minerals in water can make it harder for soap to create bubbles, leaving behind residue and making cleaning feel less effective.

Small signs like this can tell you a lot about your water quality.
