Day 2 out here in the Texas Hill Country.
This property has dealt with major flooding and standing water every time heavy rain rolls through. Our first priority is correcting the grading and building a drainage system that actually works.
The centerpiece of the project is a natural dry creek bed that will wind through the mature trees and across the entire property, collecting and directing runoff where it needs to go.
We’ll also be transforming the landscape with custom desert-style planting beds featuring native, drought-tolerant plants and natural stone for a clean, low-maintenance look.
One interesting part of this project: the backyard already had a “dry creek bed,” but it wasn’t built to handle water flow. Instead of directing runoff, the water simply washed out the sides. We’re rebuilding it from the ground up with proper grading, depth, and rock placement so it performs the way it’s supposed to.
Stay tuned—this one’s going to be a dramatic transformation.
