Another project completed that beautified this property and managed their stormwater issues. The first two are a before and after of the front island. The remainder are from all around the property.

I apologize to everyone who comes to my page to see my projects. I can hardly find any information in here for all the ads that have popped up. I don’t know how to control that. If anybody has any advice on how I can get back my page and not have all these stupid ads on it or post from other sites, I would be very grateful.

Finished up a fun sidewalk project that I posted about earlier. A little mulch really makes things pop and protects the plants from drying out too badly.

Newest project in the books. A re-landscaping project at a small site. We moved plants from the front yard island to the back strips behind the screened porch and along the wall. This area is managed by the HOA which cuts the grass and puts down pine straw. In the front island, we added low growing azaleas, ferns, boulders, grasses, hostas ( deer candy, but the client promises to guard it) and Lamb’s Ear. In the back we moved the Sunshine Legustrum and added alternating Crimson Fire Loropetelum (which grows to 3/4 ft to the pine island in front of the screened porch. Along the wall, we planted Purple Pixie Loropetelum ( gets about 2 ft tall) and Carex Everillo (Evergreen grass-like gold and green plant). Ferns in front include Cinnamon in front of posts and behind left boulder cluster, Japanese Painted Fern (near boulders) Autumn Fern on left and right areas, Solomon Seal (behind right boulder), low growing Sedums at front base of boulders, Hosta ‘Blue Angel’ to right near sidewalk, Pink Muhly Grass spread across front in three spots. The Lambs ear is below the Crepe Myrtle on the slope.

I’m so pleased with the dry stream extension, mulching, coconut sock installation today, 3/29/23. The final part will be to complete the stormwater management berm in the front yard by planting beautiful Dwarf Evergreen Deep Yellow Azaleas. Pictures to come. We also planted a beautiful Japanese Coral Bark Maple. It was a great project on a beautiful day!

Here are new photos of my Wetland Project in the Cadence neighborhood! Great pollinator plants are loving all the rain we have had! The Goldenrod is starting to bloom. The Cardinal Flower (red) is still blooming. The American Beautyberry’s berries are starting to turn purple! This is a healthy wetland which is obvious by the size of the crayfish chimney’s!!! They are huge! The frogs are singing and we even have a snake or two as well as dragonfly’s and butterfly’s!

Cadence of Woodmont subdivision asked us to restore their wetland to a more natural condition. It had been a briar patch and provided quite the ugly view from the sidewalk. We used native plants, provided by Night Song Native Plant Nursery, a wonderful local nursery, that were suited to the rise and fall of water that occurs in wetlands. This wetland has an active spring and several seeps. This is an intermittent tributary to Canton Creek. We created several planting mounds and also planted areas along the creek bank. We planted slope stabilizing plants, Buttonbush, on the bank above the wetland and American Beautyberry on the top of that slope coming down from the sidewalk area. Plants included were Cardinal Flower, Swamp Hibiscus, Swamp Sunflower, Blue Flag Iris, Goldenrod, Joe Pye W**d, Serviceberry trees, native azaleas, Virginia Sweetspire, Buttonbush shrubs, American Beautyberry to name a few. This is a healthy wetland as there are many crayfish, frogs, salamanders, dragonfly’s and many more. Keep watching for updates as the wetland continues to grow. Thanks to the Cadence HOA for their support and funding this restoration. It’s great to see a subdivision do good things for the environment.

A project done in Alpharetta included removal of English Ivey and replacing it with Stormwater terraces and plants that improve the look of the slope. The client is going to make the upper slope a container garden area.
Also a trench with capillary channels was used to catch roof runoff around the lower patio. The project was finished with planting berms between the trench and patio and a downspout extender.
