We’ve been WIDE OPEN lately!! 🏎️💨 We have a few job postings to catch up on, but we’ll start with today’s!
Today we were in Rosman, NC repairing a failed septic system for a customer who was experiencing sewage backing up into the house. During a service call last week, we probed the drain field and noticed the lines appeared to be dry. With the system being located on a heavily wooded lot, we suspected root intrusion could be the culprit.
Before submitting for a repair permit, we wanted to get a better look at what was actually happening, so we recommended uncovering the outlet pipe to determine if it was collapsed, damaged, or clogged. Once we uncovered it, we found that the pipe transitioned from PVC to corrugated pipe, and the corrugated section was extremely clogged with roots. The end cap was also heavily impacted with roots, preventing water from passing through.
We removed as much of the root intrusion as possible, replaced the corrugated section with hard pipe all the way to the end, and replaced the end cap. Thankfully, we were able to repair the problem and extend the life of the existing septic system rather than the customer having to replace the entire drain field. 🙌
Another septic system back in service! 💪
