🚜 NOW HIRING – BULLDOZER OPERATOR 🚜
📍 Brookhaven, MS Area
AJ Construction, Inc. is looking for an experienced Bulldozer Operator to join our team at our gravel pit in the Brookhaven area.
This is a full-time, hourly position for an experienced heavy-equipment operator who knows how to safely and efficiently move material, maintain grades, build roads and berms, and support daily gravel-pit production.
💰 Pay: $19–$25/hour — Based on Experience
What You'll Be Doing:
🚜 Operate bulldozers to push, spread, level, and grade sand, gravel, clay, topsoil, and overburden
📏 Perform rough and finish grading while maintaining proper elevations, slopes, and drainage
🛣️ Build and maintain haul roads, access roads, ramps, pads, shoulders, and working areas
🏔️ Strip and stockpile topsoil and overburden during pit development
🦺 Build and maintain safety berms and windrows
💧 Assist with drainage, erosion control, pond maintenance, reclamation, and site cleanup
⚠️ Identify soft spots, unstable ground, highwall hazards, and unsafe stockpile conditions
🏭 Work safely around excavators, loaders, haul trucks, crushers, screens, conveyors, and ground personnel
🔧 Perform daily equipment inspections, greasing, and routine operator maintenance
📻 Communicate effectively with supervisors and other operators by radio or hand signals
We're Looking For:
✔️ 5+ years of bulldozer or comparable heavy-equipment experience
✔️ Experience maintaining grades, slopes, haul roads, berms, stockpiles, and drainage
✔️ Knowledge of safe pushing techniques and efficient material handling
✔️ Ability to recognize changing ground conditions and potential hazards
✔️ Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
✔️ Ability to work safely in an active gravel-pit environment
✔️ Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
✔️ MSHA certification is strongly preferred
✔️ Gravel pit, quarry, mining, aggregate, or earthmoving experience is strongly preferred

ABOUT THE JOB
This is a hands-on gravel pit position. You'll work outdoors around dust, noise, vibration, mud, uneven ground, and moving equipment. Work hours may vary depending on weather, production needs, and operational requirements.
