A look behind the scenes at the craftsmanship that goes into the details.

Our field team is working through the layout and installation process for custom column covers, from establishing precise laser lines and field measurements to fitting each piece around the existing columns.

These photos capture the work before the finished product: careful layout, hands-on installation, and the attention to detail required to turn an architectural concept into a clean, finished feature.

💡 Myth vs. Reality

What you don't see behind the finished façade is often just as important as what you do see. From insulation and attachment systems to coordination and installation, every layer plays a role in building performance.

At Mohawk Construction, we're focused on delivering systems, not just installing panels.

Even the highest-quality panel system will fail if the substrate isn’t properly aligned and secured. While installing Equitone Fiber Cement Panels, substrate prep is extremely important.

Our team focuses on the fundamentals first:
✔ Framing alignment
✔ Attachment and fastener compatibility
✔ Elevation and façade tolerances

This project utilizes SmartCI Green Girts with rail support systems to create a true, consistent plane across the façade while maintaining thermal performance and proper panel support. That prep work is what creates clean lines, tight reveals, and a façade built to last. Great installs don’t start with panels. They start with precision behind the system.

Curves, transitions, and irregular geometry are where façade systems get complicated. This installation requires continuous layout adjustments to maintain clean panel alignment across a curved elevation while preserving consistent spacing, sightlines, and finish quality throughout the soffit and column transitions. The ACM Panelworx and Longboard V-Groove system demanded precision at every stage from substrate prep and radius coordination to field-cut alignment and sequencing around complex geometry. Maintaining flow through the curved façade while keeping reveals uniform is what separates standard installs from high-level exterior craftsmanship.

Momentum is building at our project in West Virginia as the building envelope officially starts taking shape.

Our team is installing a Kingspan Mini Micro Insulated Metal Wall Panels along with MASA Architectural Canopies — a combination engineered to deliver long-term durability and a modern architectural finish.

It is exciting to see the months of planning, detailing, coordination, and sequencing transition into real progress on-site, with the structure now taking form panel by panel.

Proud to showcase the quality ex*****on and professionalism from the crew at Viking, who continue driving the project forward safely and efficiently. Looking forward to seeing this façade continue to come together in the weeks ahead.

Mohawk & Viking are proud to have taken part in the Pennsylvania Construction Hike for Hope at Settlers Cabin Park in support of the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP).

Events like this matter deeply to our industry. Construction workers face some of the highest rates of su***de of any profession, and it’s something that cannot be ignored. Long hours, physical strain, high-pressure environments, and time away from family all contribute to mental health challenges that too often go unspoken.

Being out on the trail together was a reminder that strength isn’t just physical, it’s also about looking out for one another, starting conversations, and making space for mental health support in our workplaces. We’re grateful for everyone who participated and helped bring awareness to this critical issue. The conversations started here don’t end on the trail, they continue on our jobsites, in our offices, and within our teams every day. If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available. You are not alone.

Completed: Pittsburgh DPW 4th Division project.

With Kingspan insulated wall and roof panels fully installed, the building envelope is now in place and performing as a complete system.

The critical work on projects like this happens in the transitions, where roof meets wall, where tolerances are managed, and where sequencing in the field determines long-term durability. These elements ultimately control air, water, and thermal performance.

What’s visible is a clean, finished structure. What matters is how it was installed and that’s where our team Viking’s experience makes the difference.

This week is Construction Safety Week, but for us, safety is not a once-a-year focus.

Yesterday, our safety engineer took advantage of a rain day by bringing multiple local crews into the warehouse for live safety discussions and hands-on demonstrations. The team also completed specialized training on our vacuum lifter equipment, emphasizing both efficiency and safe material handling. In addition, crews participated in fall protection training, reinforcing proper techniques and awareness to prevent jobsite injuries.

These sessions focus on real jobsite conditions how we work, where risks show up, and how we make sure every crew member goes home safely at the end of the day. Safety is not a policy. It’s how the work gets done.
