Wilson Construction Company We specialize in the design and construction of vital electric utility infrastructure. In 1952, Matt O.

Our 70 years of continued collaboration and partnered success with power providers are attributable to our deeply rooted industry upbringing. Wilson began laying the solid foundations for Wilson Construction in Troutdale, Oregon. Matt and his small crew worked to install powerlines for the Rural Electric Administration, which first brought electricity to farms in Oregon and Washington. Today, with our headquarters located in Canby, Oregon, Wilson’s expansive team delivers industry-leading services:

- We design, build, and repair overhead and underground transmission and distribution transmission infrastructure.

- We engineer, drill, and perform grading for substation and switchyard construction.

- We maintain a strength of over 2,000 pieces of highly diversified and specialized rolling equipment.

- We pilot an in-house fleet of six helicopters.

- We are a collective workforce of over 700 highly qualified personnel.

-We own the resources to tackle even the most complex needs of our clients in an ever-changing industry while upholding the highest standards in project safety, quality, and production.

- We are a union contractor affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Grown from small beginnings, and continuing its family-owned tradition, the firm is now one of the largest privately held utility construction companies in the region. We currently maintain offices in Washington, Oregon, Arizona, California, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Canada.

TBT to the early days of the Wilson fleet. 🚜

Here's W1013, a tracked FMC carrier with a digger and winch, built to get into terrain wheeled trucks couldn't reach. Next to it is W640, a Ford bucket truck with a Hi-Ranger boom, ready to go in our signature orange and white.

Today, our fleet has grown to include specialized equipment built for the toughest jobs: from remote, difficult-access terrain to major transmission restoration. The machines look different, but the mission is the same: get the right tools to the job site and keep the lights on.

Thank you to everyone who has worked and run this equipment over the years.

Wilson Construction crews and equipment out in the high desert, setting a transmission structure against a wide open sky. It takes a coordinated fleet — cranes, diggers, and boots on the ground — to get power lines up and running across the terrain we work in. Proud of the work our teams do out here, wherever the job takes us.

Way back when — one of our vintage Wilson Construction trucks, pole rack and all, parked on a job site ready to get to work. The equipment has changed a lot over the decades, but the job hasn't: building and maintaining the electrical infrastructure our communities depend on. Even the local seagull stopped by to supervise.
Here's to 70+ years of Wilson Construction crews showing up and getting it done — then and now.

Fall is here, and with it comes storm season. This photo is from a past storm response, when our Wilson Construction crews worked quickly and safely to clear downed trees and restore power lines for the communities we serve. It's a good reminder of what our team is built for — and why we stay ready year-round. As the season turns, our crews are prepped and standing by, because when the next storm hits, we'll be there.
