The difference between a roof that looks good and a roof that’s built right is often what you CAN’T see.

I know I sound like a broken record, but your roof is important. The one we’re working on today had multiple layers of different tar paper, meaning the last replacement did not get stripped down to the wood.

We don’t believe in covering up problems. When replacing a roof, we strip everything down to the wood so we can see exactly what we’re working with.

On older homes with 1x6 plank decking, we recommend installing plywood over the existing boards. Those old boards can have large gaps, splits, and weak spots that don’t give today’s roofing nails the solid surface they need.

Plywood creates a stronger, more consistent foundation for the entire roofing system.

Anybody can put new shingles on an old roof. We want to make sure everything UNDER those shingles is built to last, too.

That’s the difference between simply replacing a roof and building a roofing system the right way.

In any industry, details matter. We take special care of every part of your roof, including your pipe boots. Traditional rubber pipe boots tend to rot or break after sitting on your roof for 8-10 years. At that point you’d have to hire someone to come out and repair the damage caused by the leaky boot.

With every roof we install, we include a silicone boot with a metal base that will not dry rot. If you’re paying for a shingle that’s supposed to last 30 years, why are you paying for someone to install a pipe boot that only lasts 10?

One of the questions we commonly receive is, "Why does your quote exceed other companies?" Your roof being one of the most significant components of your home, choosing the cheaper option can prove costly over time. Roofs with a pitch of less than 4/12 require the installation of an ice and water shield membrane, as 15 lb felt paper falls short of requirements. A good roof isn’t cheap, and a cheap roof isn’t good!
