Great session at yesterday's Association of Medical Facility Professionals (AMFP) New York Chapter's "Demystifying Supplier Development: Opening the Portal” event at Club 101. Supplier diversity and procurement leaders from healthcare institutions provided valuable insight into how their supplier portals operate, the prequalification process, and what distinguishes successful vendor partners.

As a certified MWBE program and construction management firm with 35 years in healthcare and public-sector facilities, Armand understands the importance of building strong partnerships in the healthcare sector. Our experience includes work for New York City Health + Hospitals, and we are currently serving as Construction Manager for the generator replacement and boiler refurbishment project at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn.

Sessions like yesterday's AMFP event are one of the ways we find the next opportunity to provide our services within healthcare facilities, and we thank AMFP for the opportunity to be an exhibitor at the event!

October is Careers in Construction Month and a time to recognize the people who build our communities and to open the door for the next generation of builders.

Construction employs more than 8 million people across the US, and Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) estimates the industry will need over 450,000 new professionals in 2027 alone. Behind every building, bridge, tunnel, or transit line are the electricians, ironworkers, operators, carpenters, laborers, estimators, superintendents, project managers and construction managers who make it all happen.

Armand is proud to support the growth of the next generation of construction professionals through scholarship and internship programs, and by hiring driven, career-minded individuals who want to build something that lasts. Check out our careers page to learn more about the roles we’re currently hiring for https://www.armandcorp.com/jobs/

We look forward to working together to build a better future for the communities we live and work in!

This , we're highlighting what climate resilience looks like for one of our projects.

Armand Corporation, working with NYC Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and Brooklyn Public Library, is managing the gut renovation of BPL's Red Hook Branch, which is being rebuilt to be more resilient, more efficient, and designed to achieve LEED Gold certification.

🌎️ Net-Zero: annual energy use will equal energy generated on-site through rooftop solar arrays.
🌎️ Flood resilience: the building sits in the FEMA 1% floodplain, so it's dry flood-proofed to NYC Building Code Appendix G, with flood-resistant walls and windows and all mechanical and electrical equipment relocated to the roof.
🌎️ Stormwater management: permeable landscaping, rain garden planters and bioswales planted with salt-tolerant species.
🌎️ Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) that cut the building's baseline load and support the LEED Gold target: high-efficiency HVAC, thermally efficient window glazing, upgraded wall insulation, occupancy-sensor lighting, a high-efficiency water heater, and low-flow sink aerators. Driving demand down is what makes net-zero achievable; the less energy the building needs, the less the solar array has to offset.

During preconstruction, Armand's team provided constructability reviews and cost analysis focused on long-term sustainability and resiliency.

We enjoyed exhibiting and serving as a sponsor for ENR's New York & New Jersey Infrastructure Forum on September 14th at Chelsea Piers. The event provided valuable opportunities to network with industry peers and discuss the projects shaping the future of infrastructure with leaders across the region.

One of the highlights was hearing from James Starace, P.E., Chief of Program Delivery at the Gateway Development Commission, who provided insights into the transformative Hudson Tunnel Project and its impact on the northeast region.

Armand Corporation is proud to support this vital infrastructure initiative as a subconsultant to MPA Delivery Partners, providing contingent staffing services across multiple functional areas. These areas include Financial Analysis, Grant Administration, Administrative Support, Project Management, Construction Management, and Resident Engineering services that help support the successful delivery of this vital project.

We appreciate the opportunity to be part of conversations surrounding the future of critical infrastructure investments and look forward to continuing our support of projects that strengthen the communities we serve.

FRIDAY FOCUS AT ARMAND!

We're proud to highlight our ongoing work at Woodhull Hospital, where Armand Corporation is serving as Construction Manager for a critical $20 million generator and boiler replacement project for NYC Health + Hospitals.

The project includes the installation of a new 8 MW emergency power system featuring four generators, upgraded switchgear, fuel systems, emissions controls, and supporting infrastructure designed to enhance resiliency, reliability, and patient safety. The work has also required careful coordination of crane activities to accommodate the delivery and placement of required materials on the roof.

Through close coordination with hospital stakeholders and construction partners, the team is delivering a modern emergency power solution while maintaining uninterrupted hospital operations.

Armand is proud to deliver the reliable infrastructure that is the foundation of exceptional patient care.
