The Golden Rule: Treat people the way you want to be treated.

Six years ago, when DW Companies was started, we knew the kind of company we wanted to build. One where people were respected, appreciated, heard, and valued for more than just the work they could get done.

Six years later, that hasn’t changed.

We certainly haven’t gotten everything right and every season has come with its own challenges.

But one thing we keep coming back to is pretty simple: Take care of your people.

Recognize their hard work. Show appreciation. Listen to their ideas. Give them opportunities to grow. And treat them with the same respect you’d expect in return.

Because at the end of the day, it’s our people who make DW what it is.

A couple weeks ago, we hired a new contractor. We gave him a deadline, project specs, quality expectations, and an official contract.

Ry needed 30 miniature houses for our October DW Kids Crew boxes, so instead of ordering them, we gave a young kid (who just happens to be a part of the Kids Crew already!) with a 3D printer the job. They talked expectations, signed a contract, shook hands, and he got to work.

He delivered AHEAD of schedule! 👏 He even went the extra mile by adding our DW logo in orange!

The best part? He has NO idea his work is going into his very own Kids Crew box this month! 🤫

Today we excitedly delivered Rum River East a one of a kind DW picnic table so that students and staff in the building can get outside and get some fresh air and sunshine throughout their day. We donated this table with the help of and were excited to see the thrill of such a simple idea and opportunity be introduced to the building. Enjoy !!
