A solid ADU starts far below the surface. 🏗️
​We’re pouring 34 yards of concrete today on this new ADU build right here in Camarillo! But before the trucks could roll in, we had a crucial step to handle: managing high-expansion soil.
​Per our soils engineer’s specifications, we had to systematically pre-saturate and flood the subgrade until we reached an engineered 33-inch moisture pe*******on depth. In expansive clay soils, this prevents the ground from swelling later and causing slab movement or foundation cracks down the road.
​Footings inspected ✅
Ufer ground & electrical rough-ins set ✅
V***r barrier & heavy-duty rebar grid placed ✅
34 yards of concrete underway!
