🌾 Fall country living comes with a few responsibilities…

Checking the deer stands. ✔️
Getting ready for hunting season. ✔️
Making sure there's propane before winter. ✔️
Remembering the septic tank exists… 😬

That last one is pretty easy to forget — right up until it reminds you.

If you can't remember the last time your septic tank was pumped, fall is a great time to get it checked off the list.

🍂 Fall will be here before we know it!

Between back-to-school, football, hunting season and the holidays sneaking up on us, the next few months have a way of filling up FAST.

If your septic tank is due for pumping, now is a great time to get it off the list — while the weather is good and before you're hosting a house full of people for the holidays. 😬

A little maintenance now can help prevent a very inconvenient surprise later.

🎒 The kids are going back to school…

The house is quieter.
The snack cabinet might survive more than 24 hours.
And your septic system is finally getting a little break. 😂

After a summer of kids home, visitors, cookouts and extra laundry, your septic system has been putting in some overtime too.

If you've been saying, “We probably need to get that tank pumped…”

Consider this your reminder. 👀💩

For patients with a septic system, this can create an unexpected issue. Septic systems rely on healthy bacteria to break down waste, and chemotherapy medications can disrupt that balance. When this happens, solids may not break down properly, which can lead to faster buildup and, over time, potential damage to your system—especially the drain field.

During treatment, your body is already going through enough. The last thing you should have to worry about is a costly septic system problem.

That’s where Pumps for Patients comes in. We coordinate septic pumping services for families undergoing chemotherapy to help reduce strain on the system and prevent long-term damage.

If you or someone you know is going through treatment and relies on a septic system, we’re here to help. 💙

This tank had a pretty good case of root intrusion, but we got it cleaned out and talked with the customer about clearing back some of the small trees and brush around the area to help prevent it from happening again.
Quick septic tip from HHP:
Roots are drawn to moisture, so overgrown trees, shrubs, and brush near your septic system can lead to clogged lines, slow drains, and costly repairs.
A little cleanup now can help save a big mess later.
