It’s back-to-school season!

For families of children with DD, preparing for the school year often includes getting ready for and finalizing their child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Thanks to a grant from MODDC, the National Association of Educational Translators and Interpreters of Spoken Languages has created an online library with resources for families.

Each resource is available by text and audio in 18 different languages! This is the largest library of special education multilingual family resources in the nation.

New materials are added regularly; check out the latest tools to support family–interpreter communication and share them with your communities! Go to https://naetisl.org/multilingual-family-resources/.

The Governor's Council on Disability (GCD) has officially opened the 2026 Legislative Priorities Poll. Whether you are an individual with a disability, a family member, or a dedicated advocate, we want to hear from you.

The input and perspective of individuals with lived experience helps guide the work of the GCD, and the survey results are shared with state legislators and elected officials to inform them of important issues for the disability community.

The Governor’s Council on Disability (GCD) is accepting entries for its annual Poster Contest in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)!

This year’s theme is Celebrating Value and Talent, carrying the spirit of inclusion forward as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Whether you are a pro or a passionate newcomer, we want to see your unique perspective on workplace access and opportunity.
