How Do You Choose the Right Pool Equipment? 💧
The “biggest” pump isn’t always the best pump.
Before buying pool equipment, start with these 4 questions:
🏊 1. What type of pool do you have?
Above-ground or in-ground? Residential or commercial? Your pool type affects the equipment you need.
📏 2. How big is your pool?
Pool volume, plumbing size, filter capacity, and turnover time all matter when choosing the right pump and filtration system.
⚙️ 3. Does the equipment match your system?
The pump, filter, heater, and other equipment should work together. More horsepower doesn’t automatically mean better performance.
💡 4. What will it cost to run?
Don’t look only at the purchase price. Energy consumption, maintenance, replacement parts, and service life all add up.
For residential pools, a properly sized variable-speed pump can be a smart choice for everyday circulation—run at lower speeds when full power isn’t needed and increase the speed when higher flow is required.
The right pool equipment isn’t about choosing the most powerful option.
It’s about choosing what fits your pool.
