Some of the strongest teams are built in the moments between the work.

This August, the WEST Builders team stepped away from our projects and gathered in San Luis Obispo for our 2026 Summer Retreat, a weekend dedicated to connection, appreciation, and time together beyond the jobsite.

From a friendly golf tournament and family-style dinner to a Morro Bay brunch cruise, winery visits, and an evening together as a team, the weekend gave us an opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the relationships that make WEST what it is.

As a 100% employee-owned company, we know that what we build together extends far beyond our projects. It’s the trust between colleagues, the experiences we share, and the culture we continue to strengthen year after year.

We returned to work with great memories, stronger connections, and an even greater appreciation for the people behind WEST Builders.

Construction is underway at 2449 Dwight in Berkeley.

Before demolition can begin, the existing facade has to be secured. Our subcontractor, ShoreCal Engineering, has completed abatement and is now shoring the building along Dwight Way and Telegraph Avenue, drilling and setting piles that will connect to horizontal c-channels at each floor level.

It's not glamorous work, but it's what keeps the project, and everyone around it, safe as we move into the next phase.

Concrete is flowing at The Halstead in Pasadena.

Building B's podium level 2 pour is underway and progressing well, with our crews and pump trucks working in sync to keep the placement on schedule. Meanwhile, Building A's podium has completed surveying and is now prepared for MEP rough-in, with MEP can installation currently in progress.
Three buildings, three different stages, one coordinated timeline. That kind of parallel progress does not happen by accident. It takes a team that plans ahead, communicates constantly, and holds itself accountable to the schedule from day one.

Progress update on Mission 18 Residences at 2918 Mission St, San Francisco.

Demolition is complete. Our team has moved into the shoring and structural pile installation.

This one is a technical build worth watching. Levels 1 through 3 will rise in Type 1A concrete metal frame, transitioning to Type IIIA wood framing from floors 5 through 8, a hybrid structural approach that balances durability with efficiency as the building climbs. When complete, Mission 18 will bring 75 residential units and 2 ground floor retail spaces to the heart of the Mission District, replacing what was previously a laundromat and parking lot.

Proud to be building this alongside Mission 18 LLC, with design by BDE Architecture and engineering by DCI Engineers. Projects like this only work when every partner is aligned from day one, and that alignment is exactly what we lead with.

Foundation and slab layout work is underway across the site. Reinforcement is being placed ahead of the upcoming concrete pour.

58 residential units. 6 stories. A new address near UC Berkeley, delivered through a Design-Assist approach that kept our team, Riaz Capital, and Levy Design Partners aligned from day one.
