🏡 From Covered Patio to Year-Round Living Space! 🔨

Another exciting transformation is underway at C&R Construction & Remodeling!

What started as an existing covered outdoor area is being transformed into a beautiful four-season living space, designed to bring the comfort of indoors together with the beauty of the outdoors.

Our crews have been hard at work framing, installing the new subfloor system, and getting the exterior dried in as we move toward the interior finishes.

And we’re particularly excited about one of the features planned for this project… a beautiful fireplace that will make this space just as inviting on a cold winter evening as it is on a warm summer morning! 🔥

Projects like this are a great reminder that sometimes you don’t need an entirely new home to create the space you’ve always wanted. Sometimes, you just need to reimagine the space you already have!

Sometimes a remodel isn’t about adding more space — it’s about making the space you already have work a whole lot better. 🔨🏠

We recently wrapped up this portion of a larger project where we converted two existing bedrooms into one full master suite.

We removed the separation wall (significant structural renovation) between the bedrooms and reworked the space to create a new master bedroom, walk-in closet, and a completely new master bathroom featuring:

🚿 Onyx shower system
🚽 New toilet
🛠️ New vanity and fixtures
👕 New master closet
🪚 Framing, drywall, trim, paint, and all the details that bring it together

And before somebody zooms in on that hardwood and comes after us in the comments 😂 — that’s intentional.

Our customers aren’t living in Tennessee yet and plan to install carpet in the bedroom later. We were contracted to lace unfinished hardwood into the areas affected by the wall removal so they would have a solid, continuous substrate for their future flooring — not to refinish the existing hardwood.

This is one of those projects where the “before” floor plan and the finished layout hardly feel like the same house.

We’re pretty dang proud of how this master suite came together. 👊

Phase 1 is in the books on this one! 🔨🏗️

We started with a Toro Steel red-iron building kit and took it from a pile of steel to a fully erected, dried-in structure with the living quarters framed and the rough plumbing completed.

The end result is going to be a pretty awesome setup—a massive open shop/garage area with dedicated living space built right into the structure.

And before somebody sees the exposed framing and asks, “When are y’all gonna finish it?” 😂 — this is exactly where the homeowners wanted us to stop for now. They’ll be relocating to Tennessee in a few months, and we’ll pick the project back up when they’re ready to move into the next phase.

We love projects like this because they let us handle several different pieces under one roof: site work, concrete, structural steel, exterior shell, framing, plumbing, and eventually the interior build-out.

Making serious progress on this Graysville barndominium! 🔨

We got the drywall hung and the bed coat finished in just a day and a half. This one is really starting to take shape, and that tall open living space is going to look awesome when it’s finished.

Dear Tennessee weather… we get it. You win. 🌧️😑

We’re ready to pour walls. The forms are ready. The stone is down. The plumbing is roughed in.

Mother Nature, however, apparently has us scheduled for a swimming pool instead. 😂

Progress on this new home has been a little slower than we’d like thanks to seemingly nonstop rain, but some things just aren’t worth rushing. A solid home starts with a solid foundation, and we’re going to give this one the time and conditions it needs to be done right.

As soon as Tennessee decides to close the faucet for a minute, we’ll get these poured walls going and this project headed UP instead of filling UP. 💪🏠

🏗️ A couple of projects currently underway!

We often get asked why we don’t post many of our larger projects.

The honest answer is… we’re usually too busy building them. 😊

Right now C&R has 5 active projects, including these two barndominiums:

🔹 A red iron barndominium going up in Loudon, TN
🔹 A full pole barn barndominium taking shape in Graysville, TN

We’re incredibly thankful for the trust our customers continue to place in us. It never gets old seeing these projects go from a slab or a set of plans into someone’s future home.

For those who’ve been asking about scheduling, here’s where we’re currently sitting:

• 🏡 New custom homes & large projects (2,500+ SF): approximately 12-month lead time
• 🔨 Medium projects (smaller homes, additions, major structural work): approximately 5 months
• 🛠️ Small projects (porches, roofing, concrete, excavation, repairs, etc.): generally 6–10 weeks

If you’re thinking about a project, don’t wait until you’re ready to start—reach out early so we can get you on the schedule and begin planning together.
