Over the past couple of weeks our Performance Coatings crew at Integrity Inspection Solutions has been hard at work completing several lift station and sewer manhole rehabilitation projects.
What makes these projects successful isn’t just the coating application — it’s the discipline and precision of the preparation process.
Our team follows a strict surface preparation and quality control process in accordance with manufacturer specifications and NACE standards to ensure every structure receives the highest level of protection and long-term performance.
Each structure we rehabilitate undergoes a rigorous coating and QA/QC protocol, including:
• Comprehensive surface preparation and cleaning
• Environmental monitoring to verify proper coating conditions
• Abrasive blasting to achieve the required surface profile
• Verification of blast profile and cleanliness
• Wet Film Thickness (WFT) testing during application
• Dry Film Thickness (DFT) testing to confirm proper build
• Holiday testing to ensure coating integrity and eliminate pinholes or voids
• Pull-off adhesion testing to verify proper bond strength to the substrate
This level of discipline ensures these structures are protected from corrosion, hydrogen sulfide attack, and structural degradation for decades to come.
When done correctly, high-performance coating systems can extend the life of critical wastewater infrastructure 30–50+ years without excavation or replacement.
I’m proud of this crew. Their surface prep, attention to detail, and commitment to doing things the right way is exactly what sets Integrity apart.
Together, We Are The Solution.
