This roof was only 8 or 9 years old, but poor installation had already caused some serious problems.

When we tore it off, we found shingles, synthetic underlayment, and the original felt all layered together. Even worse, broken and rotted decking had simply been covered up instead of replaced.

We stripped everything down, replaced the damaged decking, and gave this homeowner a roof that was done right, along with some much needed peace of mind!

Owens Corning Duration in Onyx Black with black drip edge. The new gutters are coming soon, and I’ll update with more pictures once everything is complete.

Out and about today putting signs in front of homes and businesses as we prepare for a very busy next two weeks!

These aren’t completed projects yet. They’re homeowners and business owners who recently chose Campbell’s Roofing for upcoming replacements and repairs, from residential architectural shingles to commercial TPO roofing systems.

I love putting out a Campbell’s Roofing sign because it means another customer made the smart decision to trust us with their roof.

Roof age vs. roof condition.
They are not always the same!

I have inspected 8-year-old roofs that looked 25 to 30 years old, and I have seen 15-year-old roofs that looked nearly new.

Why? Poor attic ventilation, extreme heat, installation mistakes, lower-quality materials, constant sun exposure, storms, tree coverage, trapped moisture, and lack of maintenance can all cause a roof to age much faster.

On the other hand, quality materials, proper installation, good attic ventilation, proper drainage, less severe exposure, and regular maintenance can keep an older roof looking and performing great.

The date tells us how old the roof is. An inspection tells us what condition it is actually in!
