Every home has a story and we’re taking you Behind the Build. 🎥

The Envision Homes team joined the Custom Interior and Design team to film the start of our new series, launching next Friday October 16th! A big shout-out to Andrew with Ino Imagery for getting behind the camera and helping us bring it to life.

We’ll take you inside the process to show what actually goes into building custom cabinets for a home, the people, craftsmanship, materials, and decisions that shape the finished product. We’ll also talk about some of the costs along the way, helping you understand where your investment goes.

Chandelier or Fan? Which Would You Choose? ✨

The top photo is a custom home we built in the Greystone community in Cabot, where a large gold chandelier helps create a grand, welcoming feel in the heart of the home.

The bottom shows how that same space could feel with a traditional ceiling fan instead.

For us, the chandelier wins this one. It complements the tall ceilings, draws your eye upward, and turns the living room lighting into a statement piece. And we’re starting to see more of our custom-home clients make that same choice and opting for chandeliers in their living rooms instead of the standard ceiling fan.

That’s one of the advantages of building custom. These decisions can be considered during design so the details work together and the finished home feels intentional.

What’s behind your walls matters. 🏠

Before drywall goes up, there are details worth thinking through that can make a big difference later.

TV mounts. Heavy shelving. Grab bars. Wall-mounted fixtures. Even future upgrades you may not be ready for today.

Adding the proper blocking during framing gives those items something solid to attach to and it’s a whole lot easier to plan for it now than open a finished wall later.

This is why we put so much emphasis on planning, pre-construction, and the details you may never see once your home is finished.

“What do you charge per square foot?” 🏡

It’s a fair question and one we hear often.

But square footage alone doesn’t tell us what your home will cost.

Two 2,500-square-foot homes can have very different budgets. A simple roofline versus multiple gables includes more exterior finishes. A level lot versus a sloped lot. A standard porch versus a large outdoor living space with a fireplace. Those details add up.

The example shows a $62,500 difference with the exact same square footage homes.

At Envision Homes, our project development process gives us time to understand your plans, your property, and your selections so we can build a budget around your actual home and not just an average.

A quick number might get the conversation started. Understanding what’s included helps you make an informed decision.

A lot of times people are wanting to start building their home as soon as possible so they want that quick number in that quick estimate to get started but remember quick numbers on the beginning doesn’t mean you’re going to have final numbers that match at the end.

A quality home starts long before the finishes go in. 🏡🔍

We’re out at the Holmes project for our post-framing inspection—checking door sizes against the plans, reviewing door and window openings, and looking for missing anchor bolts or work that still needs attention.

These checks are part of our process at Envision Homes. Catching something now is a whole lot better than discovering it when the doors and windows arrive for installation!

And we’ve got to brag on our trade partners… this jobsite is exceptionally clean! 👏 Keeping a clean, organized site is something we take pride in, and we appreciate the people who help us maintain that standard.

Because building your home isn’t just about how it looks when we’re finished. It’s about the care, communication, and attention to detail along the way.

We’ve welcomed a new client into preconstruction, and now we’re diving into the project development stage!

One of our favorite parts of the process we’ve built at Envision Homes is working alongside our clients at our Vibe Board—reviewing layouts, marking up ideas, and talking through changes together.

It’s more than putting walls and rooms on paper. It’s understanding how you live, what matters to you, and what will make this home feel like yours.

The technology is a great tool, but the real value is the conversation and collaboration behind it. You bring the vision. We help you work through the details and create a plan to bring it to life.

Happy Friday! 👷‍♂️🏡

We’re out at one of our custom builds today completing our weekly client update through JobTread.

Every week, our clients receive an update showing what happened this week, what’s currently in progress, what has been completed, and what’s coming up next. It keeps them informed and gives them a clear picture of exactly where their project stands throughout the build.

Today, we’re also completing our pre-drywall inspection.

Before drywall goes up, we walk the entire home and mark water lines, electrical receptacles, switches, and other important locations so our drywall crews know exactly where they need to be careful.

And yes… it helps keep screws out of water lines. 😂

In all seriousness, this simple process has helped us prevent damaged plumbing, covered electrical boxes, unnecessary drywall repairs, and delays later in the project.

These are the kinds of systems we continue building into our process—not because they look impressive, but because they help create a smoother construction experience and a better finished home for our clients.
