This house was moved 50/75 yards from it's original location so they could build a Dollar store. During the move the plaster ceilings cracked and separated. I've been hired to prep house, remove the existing popcorn texture, prime, repair ceiling and reapply a knockdown texture. The ceilings were sprayed with popcorn texture just prior to the building being moved. Luckily for me the surfaces weren't prepped properly beforehand which allowed the drywall mud and texture to flake away from the plaster. It's important to use a quality oil based primer to ensure the texture has a sealed surface to bond to. If you don't prime first the plaster sweats against the drywall mud and it causes it to separate. Final pics coming soon.
