We are excited to finally unveil our new name and brand identity. Ted Carter Inspired Landscapes is now doing business as Carter Design Group.

Over the years, our work has grown to emphasize the collective effort that goes into our process. Talented designers, master craftspeople, and dedicated project managers working in tandem to fulfill a joint purpose.
Our new brand name and logo reflect that collaborative spirit. By keeping the
Carter name at the forefront, we proudly honor the 45-year legacy built by Ted,
while reflecting the combined capabilities and future of our entire team.

As Production Manager, Harry has been the driving force behind our installation teams, ensuring that every stone laid and plant placed meets the highest standards of quality and detail.

Now, as President and Production Manager, Harry is stepping forward to guide our company’s growth into the future—maintaining the deep-rooted craftsmanship you expect while steering our team toward exciting new horizons.

A plan five years in the making- and an exciting new chapter for our team! 🌱

Back in 2021, Ted set a goal: to thoughtfully transition into a part-time role within 5 years, allowing him to focus purely on the design vision he loves, while ensuring our business thrives for decades to come.

Today, that vision becomes reality!

We are thrilled to announce that Harry, who some of you may know as our production manager, is stepping into the role of President, while Ted transitions to Creative Director.

While our roles are shifting slightly, this change is a more accurate reflection of how the company has been operating over the past couple years. The team you know and trust remains exactly the same. Harry will continue leading our production and field operations, and Ted will continue guiding our signature design vision- expanding on over four decades of landscape artistry.

This Cape Elizabeth backyard has seen a dramatic transformation in the past month. We have increased the terrace footprint, correction some drainage issues, installed new plantings, and added a beautiful run of Mystic Mountain Granite steps to the lower lawn.
