The Butternut Area Historical Museum will be one of the 11 participants in next Saturday's community wide garage sale in Butternut. We will have fabulous items including some beautiful solid wood doors and vintage tables. Stop in. Maps of the various sites are available at the village hall on Michigan Street. The sale runs from 8 am to 3 pm. Come to Butternut and find some fabulous bargains! Check the Village of Butternut page for a list of the sites.

here is still time to sign up for Lisa Krueger's awesome art class at Fanatical Fish- Soft pastel on matboard- next Saturday, June 6. Lisa is a fabulous teacher who takes you one step at a time and makes you feel like a rock star. The class runs from 10 am to 2:30 and costs $50. Just reminding everyone of upcoming classes at Fanatical Fish in downtown Butternut. Saturday, May 30 is the gemstone bracelet class taught by Kristine Jenson for $40. You will make 3 bracelets using a curated selection of over 20 gemstones and crystals. Next up, on Saturday, June 6, Lisa Krueger will be teaching a soft pastel class featuring a beautiful sunset. Cost is $50. These are fun, relaxing classes and are great for beginners and intermediate artists .You get a great deal of guidance and plenty of freedom to innovate. The 2026 Fanatical Fish class calendar is available with quite a diverse line up. New this year- a writing course taught by local author Teri Morrison Kaiser, a wood carving class by John Reichling, and a clay class taught by Madison artist ( and my dear friend) Lori Henthorne. Here are primitive pictures of the Fanatical Fish class calendar taken with my phone. I couldn't attach the scans which look a lot nicer. But, you can at least see what is offered. I will have posters out soon and an ad in the Price County Review as well. Thanks to all who have taken classes in the past. It's a ton of fun and a great way to hang out with people who like to create. Let's make Art!

One last time... make sure you drop what you are doing tomorrow and just take a ride over to Butternut for Christmas in the Village. It's a fabulous community wide Christmas shopping event featuring local arists, which translates into very unique Christmas gifts for you to buy. And it's fun and very cozy/ homey. Easy shopping. Start at the Village Hall on Michigan street to pick up your punch card and map. There are vendors throughout the downtown as well as up at the community park and the school. You can eat at various locations.... the Community Park, Butternut Cafe, Double D's, and Lori's Nook ... just for starters. Stop in at the museum for live Christmas music and cookies.... then work your way up the block. This is truly an all day affair... the shopping part runs from 9am to 3 pm... but there is more up at the park after three including a meat raffle and live music. Come on down!
The painting featured here is one of many at Fanatical Fish that will have one day 30% discount. Some paintings are discounted as low as 50%. When I'm dead these things will be worth some coin. Invest now. Or, maybe not....maybe they will just end up in a dumpster. But either way, today, they are pretty and will look nice over your couch. This one is called Red Field.

Are you ready to do some wholesome shopping for unique art? Great. Then come on down to Butternut this Saturday, December 6 from 9 am to 3 pm for Christmas in the Village. This community wide event features local artists at various venues throughout the town. Start at the Village Hall on Michigan St to pick up your map and punch card. Have your card stamped at all locations (no purchase necessary) and then return it to the Hall to be eligible for a drawing of fabulous prizes. Fanatical Fish is just one of the many spots. I will have nine vendors at my place and big, one day only, discounts on some of my work. Come for food, wine and fellowship. And calendars. I have calendars. Come to Butternut. We are a ton of fun.

Just reminding everyone of Christmas in the Village on Saturday, December 6 - 9 am - 3 pm in Butternut, WI. This is a community wide shopping event featuring local artists at various locations throughout the town. Start at the Village Hall on Michigan St. to pick up a map and punch card. Get your card stamped at each location ( no purchase necessary) and then return it to the Village Hall to be eligible for a drawing of fabulous prizes. There are also events up at the Community Park; a food stand sponsored by the Butternut Girls Basketball team during the entire day and a meat raffle and music starting at 3 pm. This is a fantastic community event that grows larger every year. It's a great way way to find a unique, sensitive Christmas gift in a fun holiday atmosphere. Skip the chaos and chill of WalMart and buy local. Also, there will be live Christmas music at the Butternut Area Historical Museum throughout the event.
