LDG’s Diane Purdy, PE, recently joined a Women in Transportation Engineering event hosted by PennDOT Engineering District 2-0, bringing together young female interns from PennDOT, consultants, and contractors at the I-99/I-80 High-Speed Interchange project in Centre County. The group toured the active construction site before sitting down for lunch and a Q&A, where industry professionals shared career experiences, lessons learned, and advice with the students.

Women supporting women in transportation.

LDG’s Diane Purdy, PE, recently had the opportunity to welcome attendees to the CCAP Women’s Reception, where she shared her journey as a structural and bridge engineer, transportation project manager, and leader in Pennsylvania’s infrastructure industry.

From helping advance major transportation projects like the State College Area Connector to connecting with young women beginning their careers in engineering, Diane reflected on the experiences and lessons that have shaped her career.

Her advice? Be yourself. Be confident. Ask questions. Be a sponge. Find your place in this world and give back along the way.

An exciting milestone at Tinker Air Force Base! LDG recently joined project partners Mason & Hanger and Mead & Hunt to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Bomber Agile Common Hangar (BACH), a 196,791 SF mission-critical facility designed to support depot maintenance for B-52 and B-21 bomber aircraft.

LDG led the architectural and mechanical engineering efforts and provided electrical engineering expertise for the first-of-its-kind prototype. Designed for flexibility, the facility will accommodate up to four large bombers and multiple airframe types while supporting the evolving needs of the U.S. Air Force.

To commemorate the milestone, LDG created and presented custom Challenge Coins to project stakeholders in recognition of the collaboration that helped move BACH from design to construction.
