Off your a** and on your feet, out of the shade and into the heat. This phrase is a little less brash when it’s 3am and in the 70s. Not only does it feel good to get ahead of a hot day, but it’s imperative to a successful concrete pour during the summer in Texas. Without getting too far into the weeds, cooler temperatures and lack of sunlight slow down rapid evaporation from the concrete mix, allowing the concrete to cure properly. Pouring while it’s cool outside also drastically reduces the chances of concrete shrinkage or cracking. Yes, all concrete cracks. It’s not a matter of if, but when, and doing things the right way surely helps reduce how much.

A beautiful site on a wonderful piece of property in Adamsville TX. It may not look like much, but it takes a few months to get to this point, and it’s always bittersweet to see a clean site for a new home. When choosing your builder keep in mind that you’ll spend a good year of your life, or more, planning and watching it come to fruition. Choose wisely, it’s not always about the lowest bid.

1 of 3 new starts. Everyone sees the final products on social media, but it’s hard to see all of the behind the scenes work before a project breaks ground, and throughout the entire build. The multiple meetings, establishing project expectations, permitting and inspections, acquiring bids, ironing out selections, etc.. Final plans vs Final product. The beauty of building a custom home is that you can alter your home to fit your vision while the home is being built. These homeowners had a change of heart after seeing this shower framed, and we reworked the entire space. I think we achieved a much better layout and use of the space, and the buyers selections put the cherry on top. We are suckers for dark wall tile, and the natural pebbles pop and give this shower a warm feeling.

This post may have helped more people a few weeks back, but here we are. Splash blocks are intended to slow water down and kick the water up into the air when it shoots out of your down spouts, not accelerate the water into your yard or flower bed. If you’re experiencing washout around your splash blocks the correct orientation will surely help!

5/16/25 will be a day that we will cherish forever. It’s the day I left Grand Endeavor homes and took the leap of faith. Thankfully, we have been extremely busy, and I realized today that Amanda and I missed celebrating our 1 year anniversary. We appreciate the support and words of encouragement from all of our family, friends, clients, and vendors. We learned a lot this year, and I’m extremely proud to be building a business that we can hand down to our son one day. We have a bright year ahead of us, and look forward to all of the opportunities and relationships we are going to build along the way.

We have been extremely fortunate with everything that has unfolded in the past year. I always felt proud to get 5 star Google reviews when I was working for another builder, but the service and experience I was providing was concealed under another man’s business name. When the customers reviews directly reflect the experience my Wife and I provide with Belle Haven Homes, it just hits different. To me this is success.
