🏆 WE WON SILVER at the 2026 Master Design Awards! 🏆

Big news out of Greater Than Builders — our Lago Vista lakeside transformation just took home Silver in the Exterior Facelift category from Qualified Remodeler's 48th Annual Master Design Awards! That is a NATIONAL RECOGNITION!

Here's what made the judges take notice: this home went from 3,425 sq ft to 5,145 sq ft with a brand new second story — and that meant reinforcing the entire existing structure to carry the extra weight. Not exactly a small ask.

On the sloping lakefront lot, we built ICF retaining walls clad in natural stone to carve out two full outdoor living levels. New siding, windows, and doors tied the original home and the new addition together so seamlessly you'd think it was always one house. The pool got a full refresh — new plaster, new tile — and now flows right out to an expanded patio and a brand new detached pool house.

The judges called it out for "structural innovation, architectural cohesion and lifestyle-focused design" — and honestly, that's exactly what we set out to build: a home that finally matches its lakeside setting.

"This one means a lot to Jen and me. We started this company to do work we're proud of, and seeing a project like this get recognized on a national stage reminds us why we do it the way we do. This award belongs to our whole crew just as much as it belongs to us."

Another gutter project wrapped up in Burnet today! 🙌🏼

We installed 5" gutters with 3x4 downspouts, using two different colors—Musket Brown and Herringbone—to complement and blend beautifully with the exterior of the home.

It’s the little details that make a big difference! We love creating solutions that are not only functional, but also look like they were meant to be part of the home from the start.

God Is In The Details. ✨

Huge transformation on the Burnet Square!

We took on the remodel of the Burnet Central Appraisal District office at 223 S. Pierce Street in downtown Burnet, Texas — and in this video we're walking you through the whole thing, from demo day to the final reveal.

The Burnet CAD office serves every property owner in Burnet County, which means this build had a challenge most residential jobs don't: the doors had to stay open. Staff still had to meet with taxpayers, process exemptions, and run appraisal operations while we worked. In this walkthrough we break down how we phased the project, what we found once the walls came down, and the design decisions that turned a dated county office into a functional, welcoming public space.

More Than a Coin — A Symbol of Service

A challenge coin is small, but what it represents can be much bigger.

For Ben, the tradition goes back to his time in the United States Air Force, where challenge coins represented more than recognition. They represented service, brotherhood, commitment, and the pride that comes from being part of something greater than yourself.

That same philosophy is at the heart of Greater Than Builders.

We created our own challenge coin as a reminder of the standards we strive to bring to every project:

Built on Faith.
Driven by Purpose.
Committed to the Details.

One side carries our GTB identity and our motto, “God Is in the Details.” The other brings together the tools, craftsmanship, and values that represent what we do every day.

The Air Force taught Ben that the details matter, your word matters, and the people beside you matter.

Those principles didn’t stay in the military. They came home with him and became part of the way we build.

Greater Than Builders — Built on Faith. Built with Purpose. Built to Last.

We are incredibly honored and humbled to have received two STAR Awards, recognizing Greater Than Builders among the elite builders and remodelers in the great state of Texas.

🏆 BEST OUTDOOR LIVING
🏆 BEST ADDITION

To be acknowledged alongside so many talented professionals is truly a blessing and a testament to God's faithfulness, our amazing team, and the wonderful clients who trust us with their homes.

One of the greatest highlights of the night was sharing this experience with our friends and homeowners, Jay and Jennifer Reitmeyer. What began as a home renovation has become one of life's greatest blessings—a genuine friendship that we will always treasure. Spending the evening celebrating together made the awards even more meaningful.

We're grateful, we're humbled, and we're excited for what God has in store next.
