This experience and local knowledge of complicated topography help us anticipate challenges, prevent unforeseen problems, and keep your project on time and on budget. With utilities being a significant part of the process, understanding the terrain, soil, and geological layers under your land can help you avoid costly delays. Proper drainage design can prevent flooding, water damage, and other unexpected expenses. Most large production builders have an entire land development department to evaluate and design homesites. Likewise, we ensure proper site development before starting your project.

Next, our licensed and insured structural engineers design your slab, frame, and trusses. Our plumbers and electricians are also licensed and insured to guarantee your home meets safety standards and Texas codes. Our vetted trade partners have a proven history of quality work, fair pricing, and trusted completion times. Meet the Builder: Jason Meredith, Head of Construction

At an early age, Jason began working alongside his grandfather and father in the construction industry. Over 30 years later, his resume boasts hands-on experience across nearly every phase of residential construction and a comprehensive understanding of the craftsmanship required to build exceptional custom homes. In 2004, he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University. His industry knowledge, contacts, education, and trusted trade partners are what set him apart. At Southern Sage, he combines decades of practical field experience with strong business and project management principles. Throughout his career, he has built homes ranging from $100k to $10 million. The experience he acquired building production homes in the greater Austin area laid the foundation for the high-quality luxury custom homes he now builds in the Highland Lakes area.​​ As active members at church and a volunteer with Burnet County 4-H and the Ark of the Highland Lakes, we proudly prioritize faith, family, and our community. Our favorite client likes to start the morning with ☕️ and a quick inspection of his 50 acre estate.

The first thing he had us build was a hanger to hold his Carbon Cub. His private runway allows him to make quick takeoffs and landings for this modern, high-performance aircraft. It’s 1 of 6 ✈️ he pilots!
