Some projects are a challenge. This one was a puzzle.
This backyard transformation is the kind of project many landscape companies would pass on. With only about 4 feet of access at the top of a steep hillside, every piece of material had to be brought in from above. Our crew built a temporary access ramp and worked the site from the bottom up.
The client had a clear vision: preserve the existing mature trees, create retaining walls and walkways with a natural feel, and build a private retreat that felt worlds away from the neighbors.
Here’s how we brought it to life:
🌲 Protected and worked around the established mature trees
🪨 Built natural-style retaining walls and walkways that blend into the hillside
🔥 Installed a Breeo smokeless fire pit as the centerpiece of the gathering area
🌿 Planted new trees and arborvitae to screen neighboring sightlines and create true seclusion
The result is a secluded backyard oasis built on a site most would have called impossible.
