At Crystal Clear Pools & Spas, we’re proud to support National Water Safety Week by helping families enjoy their pools safely and confidently.

1 . Always supervise children

- Never leave kids unattended near water, even for a moment.

- Fences, self-latching gates, and pool alarms add important layers of protection.

☀️ HOT WEATHER = HIGHER CHLORINE DEMAND! 🏊‍♂️💦

With temperatures reaching 95°-99° lately, pool season is officially in full swing! While everyone is enjoying the water, it's important to remember that hotter weather and increased pool activity dramatically increase your pool's chlorine demand.

🔥 Why does chlorine get used up faster?
• Higher water temperatures cause chlorine to dissipate more quickly.
• Increased swimmer load introduces contaminants like sunscreen, body oils, and sweat.
• Intense sunlight and UV exposure break down chlorine faster.
• Afternoon thunderstorms and organic debris can further impact sanitizer levels.

If you're noticing your chlorine levels dropping faster than normal, you're not imagining it! This is the time of year when pools require more attention and testing.

🟡 WATCH OUT FOR MUSTARD ALGAE!
The combination of warm water and lower chlorine levels creates the perfect environment for mustard algae to develop. Mustard algae often appears as a yellow or brown dust-like substance on pool walls, steps, and shady areas. Mustard algae feeds off of your chlorine.

To help prevent algae problems:
✅ Use a quality algaecide weekly.
✅ Keep chlorine levels properly maintained with quality chlorine shock
✅ Brush pool walls and steps regularly.
✅ Maintain proper water balance.

💥 SHOCKING YOUR POOL IS IMPORTANT!
• Chlorine pools should be shocked every week.
• Saltwater pools should be shocked every 2-3 weeks.
• Additional shocking may be needed after heavy rain, large pool parties, or algae outbreaks.

💦 The Secret to Making Your Vinyl Pool Liner Last Twice as Long

Ever notice that unsightly, dark ring forming right at the water level of your pool? That is not just "pool grime"—it is a combination of body oils, sunscreen, pollen, and airborne debris that cooks under the sun.

If you leave it there, it doesn't just look bad; it actually destroys your vinyl liner.
Here is why a dedicated Tile & Vinyl Cleaner is your pool's best friend, and exactly how often you should be using it.

🛡️ Why Standard Household Cleaners Won't Cut It

It is tempting to grab a generic bathroom scrub, but standard household cleaners can completely ruin your pool's chemistry, cause massive foam clouds, or bleach out the beautiful pattern on your liner.

A specialized tile and vinyl cleaner is formulated to:

Break down oils: It eats through sticky sunscreen and body oils without affecting your chlorine levels.

Protect the vinyl: It contains UV inhibitors that keep your liner pliable, preventing it from drying out, cracking, and becoming brittle above the waterline.

Prevent scaling: It safely dissolves calcium deposits before they harden into a rough, sandpaper-like crust.
