✨ Cleaning Tip of the Day: Flour Your Sink!

Yes… flour. The same stuff in your pantry can make a stainless-steel sink look showroom-new!

Here’s the trick:

Wash the sink and dry it completely.
Sprinkle a light dusting of flour over the surface.
Using a soft, dry microfiber cloth, buff with the grain—like you’re waxing a car.
Wipe away every bit of flour before turning the water back on.

The fine starch acts like a gentle micro-polish, lifting away the stubborn film hiding in the grain and restoring that beautiful stainless-steel shine.

⚠️ The sink must stay completely dry! Water + flour = paste—and that is definitely not the look we’re going for. Use only a small amount, and remove it thoroughly so it doesn’t wash down the drain.

🏡 THE CLEANER HOME SERIES

👀 HIDDEN DIRT ALERT
🤢 Go Lift Up Those Black Rubber Flaps in Your Kitchen Sink.

We'll wait.

That rubber splash guard over your garbage disposal may look perfectly fine from the top.

The underside can be an entirely different story.

Food residue, grease and grime can collect underneath the rubber flaps where you normally can't see it—and it may be contributing to that mysterious kitchen-sink smell.

💡 PRO TIP: With the disposal OFF, gently lift each section of the splash guard and wipe the underside with a cloth and warm, soapy water. If your model's splash guard is removable, check the manufacturer's instructions for proper removal and cleaning.

⚠️ Never put your hand down inside the disposal.

And here's today's challenge...

Go look underneath yours.

😇 Sparkling clean?
😳 A little gross?
🤢 WE DO NOT SPEAK OF WHAT I JUST SAW.

💡 Cleaning Tip of the Day
🖌️ Clean Window Tracks with a Paintbrush

Think you need special tools to clean your window tracks? You probably already have the perfect one!

Over time, dust, sand, dead bugs, pollen, and pet hair settle into the narrow grooves of your window tracks—especially here in our desert climate. Instead of struggling with paper towels or cotton swabs, grab a small paintbrush.

🧹 Pro Tip:
Use a clean, dry paintbrush to loosen dirt from the corners and tight spaces, then vacuum it away with your hose attachment. Finish by wiping the tracks with a damp microfiber cloth for a like-new finish.

It's a simple trick that makes window cleaning faster, easier, and much more effective.

💬 Question of the Day:
What's the hardest part of cleaning your windows?

🪟 The glass
🧹 The tracks
🤷 I usually avoid the whole job!

💡 Cleaning Tip of the Day
🍽️ Don't Forget Your Dishwasher Filter!

If your dishes aren't coming out as clean as they used to—or your dishwasher has an unpleasant smell—the culprit might be something you never think about...

The dishwasher filter.

Over time, food particles, grease, and debris collect in the filter, making your dishwasher work harder and leaving dishes with spots, odors, or leftover residue.

✨ Pro Tip:
Remove the filter and rinse it under warm running water once a month. If needed, use a soft brush to gently remove stubborn buildup before reinstalling it.

A clean filter helps your dishwasher:
✅ Clean dishes more effectively
✅ Reduce unpleasant odors
✅ Improve water flow
✅ Extend the life of your appliance

💬 Question of the Day:
Did you know your dishwasher has a filter that needs cleaning?

👍 Yes, I clean it regularly!
😮 No... I'll be checking mine today!

🏡 The Cleaner Home Series
🤯 Did You Know?
🧴 Let Your Cleaners Sit!

One of the biggest cleaning mistakes people make is spraying and immediately wiping.

Here's the secret: Most disinfectants need time to work.

Disinfectants don't kill germs the instant they touch a surface. They need what's called "contact time"—the amount of time the surface must stay wet for the product to effectively kill bacteria and viruses.

Depending on the product, that could be anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes.

💡 Pro Tip: Always check the label for the recommended contact time. Spray the surface, let the cleaner sit for the required time, then wipe it clean.

You'll get a cleaner, healthier home—and you'll actually get the disinfecting power you're paying for.

💬 Question of the Day:
Did you know disinfectants need time to work?

👍 Yes, I always let them sit.
😲 No, I've been wiping them off right away!

🍳 Make Your Glass Cooktop Look Like New!

Burnt-on food and stubborn stains don't have to stay on your glass stovetop. With a little dish soap and a razor scraper, you can safely restore that showroom shine.

💡 Here's how:

✅ Apply a few drops of dish soap and spread it over the stained area.

✅ Let it sit for a few minutes to help soften baked-on grease and food.

✅ Holding a glass cooktop razor scraper at about a 45-degree angle, gently scrape away the loosened residue. Always keep the surface wet while scraping.

✅ Wipe clean with a damp microfiber cloth and buff dry for a streak-free shine.

⚠️ Safety Tip: Only use a razor scraper designed for glass cooktops. Never scrape a dry surface, and never use steel wool or abrasive scrubbers—they can scratch the glass.

✨ A few minutes of maintenance after spills can keep your cooktop looking like new for years!

🧽✨ Daily Cleaning Tip of the Day ✨🧽

🧊 Freshen Your Garbage Disposal with Ice Cubes!

Did you know a handful of ice cubes can help keep your garbage disposal cleaner and working more efficiently?

Here's how:
✅ Fill the disposal with a handful of ice cubes.
✅ Turn on cold water.
✅ Run the disposal until the ice is gone.

As the ice breaks apart, it helps knock loose grease, food buildup, and debris from the grinding components, leaving your disposal cleaner and helping it perform at its best.

💡 Bonus Tip: After the ice, grind a few lemon or orange peels to leave your kitchen smelling fresh and clean. (Avoid putting large amounts of citrus peels down the disposal at once.)

A simple 30-second habit like this can help reduce odors and keep your kitchen running smoothly!

🪥🚽 Daily Cleaning Tip of the Day 🚽🪥

Where do you keep your toothbrush? 🤔

If it's sitting on your bathroom counter next to the toilet, it may be time to give it a new home!

Every time you flush with the lid open, a fine mist of tiny droplets—often called "toilet plume"—can spread invisible bacteria and germs onto nearby surfaces, including your toothbrush.

✅ Keep your smile cleaner with these simple tips:
• 🚽 Close the toilet lid before flushing.
• 🪥 Store your toothbrush in a cabinet, drawer, or covered holder away from the toilet.
• 💨 Let it air dry upright after each use.
• 📅 Replace your toothbrush every 3 months (or sooner if the bristles are worn).

A few small changes can help reduce unnecessary exposure to germs and keep your bathroom a little healthier for the whole family.

🧽✨ Daily Cleaning Tip of the Day ✨🧽

🍽️ Clean Your Oven Naturally

A clean oven not only looks better—it can help reduce smoke, odors, and baked-on grease while keeping your kitchen smelling fresh.

💡 Try this simple, non-toxic cleaning method!

✅ Remove the oven racks and soak them overnight in hot water with ½ cup of castile soap. Rinse well the next day.

✅ Wipe out loose crumbs inside the oven with a damp microfiber cloth.

✅ Make a natural cleaning paste by mixing:
• 1 cup baking soda
• 6 tablespoons water

✅ Spread the paste over the inside of the oven (avoid the heating elements) and let it sit for at least 6 hours or overnight.

✅ Wipe away the paste with a damp sponge, rinsing frequently.

✨ For stubborn, baked-on spots, spray with white vinegar. The vinegar reacts with the baking soda to help loosen grime, making it much easier to wipe clean.

⚠️ If your oven has a self-cleaning feature, always follow the manufacturer's instructions. Remove the oven racks before using the self-clean cycle, as the extreme heat can discolor or damage many rack finishes.
