In early 1992, I had the opportunity to move from Louisville, Kentucky to Putnam County West Virginia. After working as a controller and then chief financial officer for over thirteen years in manufacturing and service companies, I started developing property and building custom and semi-custom homes in 2001. My vision was to use my background in finance and customer service to start a company that would โraise the barโ in the quality and professionalism of custom home building and improve the overall experience which a family goes through in having their dream home constructed. After building 350 homes, Iโm now recognized as โDave Hobba Builderโ.
There is a lot more to DHB than just one person! DHB has a team! We are not a one man show. Our team has built over 350 homes, townhomes, and commercial buildings. Since we are one of the very few builders who perform their own site work, we have also developed almost 350 lots in the several communities we have created.
We have all heard the phrase โjack of all trades/ master of nothingโ. OUR team is FAR from that! Our team consists of team members and subcontractors who specialize in their fields of expertise. I always tell our future clients, that our roofers will not be doing the electrical work when it is raining outside.
In 2012, the DHB team increased our commitment to โmaking a differenceโ and joined forces with the St. Jude Childrenโsโ Research Hospital to volunteer our time and resources, with our committed group of suppliers and sub-contractors, to build the 2012 St. Jude Dream Home of West Virginia.
