Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage of the first responders, service members, and everyday Americans who answered the call in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

We remember the families who lost loved ones, those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the strength and unity shown by our nation in the days that followed.

When concrete becomes part of the finished design, every detail matters.

Concrete can be more than a structural material. When properly executed, it becomes part of the architecture itself.

This project showcases exposed architectural concrete with a vertical board formed finish, creating natural texture and character across the surface while maintaining the clean lines of the structure.

Work like this requires careful planning from the beginning. Form layout, board placement, concrete consistency, vibration, tie locations, and placement all influence what will ultimately become the finished surface. Unlike concrete that will eventually be covered, exposed concrete leaves the craftsmanship on display.

The result is a structure where the concrete is not hidden behind the design. It is the design.

The finished product is where planning, craftsmanship, and design come together.

These photos highlight past projects completed by Professional Concrete Works and demonstrate how concrete can become an intentional part of the overall architecture and landscape.

From custom concrete steps integrated into the natural grade to exposed walls, walkways, and architectural flatwork, each element was constructed to complement the surrounding design while providing the durability and performance expected from concrete.

Work like this requires careful attention to elevations, alignment, formwork, finish quality, and how each concrete element connects with the rest of the property. The goal is not simply to place concrete, but to execute the architect’s and builder’s vision with precision.
