Recently completed electrical finishes on a custom kitchen and bathroom remodel in Winterport. Upgrades included new wiring throughout, recessed lights, undercabinet lighting, exterior lights, laundry. The former galley kitchen was cramped and dated. The builder brought it down to the studs. Hand hewn beams discovered above the ceiling were selected by the owner to compliment the renewed space.

Strayed a bit from the conventional path while re-locating this vintage hallway chandelier to its new residence in the dining room. The notion of pipe staging was briefly bandied about. To my surprise over the course of a single evening, the painter revealed in enterprising style this imaginative structure in the hallway for my use. Feeling inspired, I went about constructing my own interpretation in the dining room as hoisting this hefty classic from a mere ladder would have introduced some logistical complications. All in all, a raving success. Progress is ongoing, more photos of the replacement hallway light fixture to come. Having fun at Castine's beloved, "Pink Palace".

Long time, no updates! 2024 has already been a stellar year and shows no indications of slowing down! I've enjoyed meeting many new customers and embarked on a host of new projects. Here's a quick re-cap: Last winter, I spent a couple of months down in Waterboro, giving my younger brother (who is also an electrician) a hand roughing in a beautiful custom home he's working on down there. It's a big project with lots of details, but hoping to be part of getting it finished this year! Up this way, I've been tackling a pleasing variety of work. I decided it was about time to check-in and cover some of the notable highlights.

Renovations are ongoing at the former Masonic Lodge in Bucksport, but the 2nd floor guest suites are now complete! During the early 1900's this building served as the Spofford Grammar School. Fortunately, many of the original light fixtures were able to restored and repurposed. The owners have done a wonderful job selecting design elements which compliment the building's history while still providing a nod towards modern style.

Electrical upgrades for two historic small buildings: a former forge and a guest cottage. Situated in beautiful Brooksville, with a view of the sea from the windows. Previously, a tired fuse panel served both buildings via a single receptacle outlet. Extension cords were retired, the old fuse panel removed, and the service upgraded. A new line to the guest cottage was run underground. Customer desired a minimalistic aesthetic- plain fixtures and metal clad cabling were used for a subtle effect.

New 200 amp underground service installed in Orland. CMP inspected and set the meter, hook-up should be later this month!

Final inspection passed at the whole house re-wire in Bangor! Looking forward to seeing this house on the market once the builder adds the finishing touches!

New 800 amp service in Bucksport is live! This replaces an older 200 amp installation. CMP upgraded the transformer at the pole and completed the hook-up. Extra power for heat pumps and EV charging!

Emergency service. Water intrusion caused failure in this 200 amp main circuit breaker. Corrosion can be seen on the wires and terminals. Electricity remained on even with handle moved to "OFF" position, creating an unsafe condition. Power was shutdown, corroded parts of wire cut back, new circuit breaker installed- sealant added to top of equipment to prevent new water ingress.

200 amp to 800 amp service upgrade underway! Four new load centers are replacing a somewhat chaotic 1950's configuration (I'm sure it looked better when it was new, but time took its toll!)
