We have a passion for finding ways to deliver more for our clients, and when your client wants to verify the conformity of a newly sodded athletic field, how do we deliver more?

Well in a single day, Field Coordinator Daniel O'Connell establishes a precise control network and aerial targets, collects 1700 shots with a robotic total station, and collects low altitude, high overlap UAV imagery resulting in 0.75cm GSD.

We then take that data and create two “heat maps” from both sets of data, showing 0.2’ contours. The results speak for themselves.

This is what we mean when we say “The New Standard For Measurement”.

We envision using our UAV services to add new dimensions to all of our projects. These point cloud captures from one of our recent projects show what a birds eye view and millions of points can bring into view.

Happy New Year! And what a year it has been. We entered this year hoping to be the best version of ourselves yet, and as we close out 2020, we can look back on nearly 300 successfully completed projects feeling accomplished. Through everything, we experienced growth and success, and for that we are grateful to our clients and the very talented NORSE team. Wishing everyone a prosperous, happy and healthy New Year!

Entry cost and lack of oversight has made UAV data accessible to many, but the the results generated by an advanced survey team cannot be so easily replicated.

Take the below example, covering about 10 acres of unstable landslide terrain, this UAV phoDAR data set we generated earlier this year is the result of 450 overhead and oblique images capturing the steep exposed faces. The images are constrained to 10 ground control points set in key locations to verify the steep terrain, resulting in a ground sampling distance of 1.2cm, and generating over 15 million bare earth measurements. Our crew stayed safe at the launch site well away from the unstable eroding bank, and delivered a certifiable data set, backed by real numbers. Overlaying contours onto the point cloud, the results speak for themselves.
