Progress continues at Fellowship Community!

In our September project update, Superintendent Brad Bender takes us around the site to highlight the latest construction milestones, including second-floor exterior framing, substantial completion of first-floor interior framing, and ongoing underground utility work.

One of the biggest challenges has been the amount of rock encountered during excavation. Despite these challenges, our team and trade partners continue to make steady progress while keeping the project on schedule.

This week, General Superintendent Bill Lastinger led a hands-on training session for our field technicians, providing an opportunity to strengthen their field knowledge, ask questions, and learn from his years of construction experience.

Our commitment to the personal and professional development of our teammates reflects our ongoing efforts to encourage knowledge sharing, build confidence in the field, and help our employees continue growing in their careers.

By sharing their experience, seasoned teammates play an important role in developing future leaders within our company.

This past Saturday, Anissa joined the - Maryland Chapter for the American Heart Association's Heart Walk, raising awareness and funds for heart health.

Thanks to the generosity of her coworkers, friends and family, Anissa reached her fundraising goal!

Joining her for the walk were fellow Benchmark team members Alex and Nic, along with their significant others.

We're proud of Anissa for supporting a cause that means so much to her, and grateful to everyone who donated, participated and showed their support. It's always great to see our team showing up for one another, both inside and outside the workplace.

Collaboration goes beyond the work happening in the field at WellSpan Health.

Last week, the LF Driscoll + Benchmark Construction Company, Inc. JV team welcomed team members from .abel.inc for a presentation and tour of our WellSpan York Hospital expansion project.

The visit included a high-level look at the new tower, along with the planning and coordination required to prepare the existing hospital for upcoming renovations. I.B. Abel, Inc. Project Manager Tyler and Foreman Briar joined our team for the presentation before heading into the field for a closer look at the work underway.

Presentations like this give our teams and trade partners a chance to share knowledge, ask questions, and see firsthand the coordination that goes into a complex healthcare project.

Alex, Tyler, and Cameron recently represented Benchmark at the University of Maryland's Career Fair, connecting with students and sharing opportunities to build a career in the construction industry.

Another year of building, growing and achieving together!

Each year, our End of Year Celebration gives us an opportunity to look back on everything our team accomplished throughout the fiscal year. We celebrated promotions and new team members, projects completed and newly awarded, new client relationships, and the many awards and recognitions earned along the way.

We also recognized two individuals who stood out for their contributions this year. Congratulations to Tyler and Guy, our 2026 MVP Award recipients!

Thank you to everyone across Benchmark who played a part in another successful year. We’re proud of what we accomplished together and excited for what’s ahead.

Leadership and service go hand in hand.

We’re proud to see our President and CEO, Bobby Brandt, featured in Leadership Lancaster’s latest Leadership Exchange, sharing why the organization has been such an important part of Benchmark’s story.

Since Bobby became Benchmark’s first Core Class graduate in 2011, 12 of our employees have completed the Core Class, with four leaders also participating in the Executive Series.

It reflects something we believe in deeply: growing our people from within and encouraging them to become more engaged, thoughtful leaders, both at Benchmark and throughout our community.

Today, we remember one of Benchmark’s legends.

Cliff Wilson joined Benchmark in 1994 and dedicated 25 years to our company, first as a superintendent and later as Director of Field Operations. He was an exceptional carpenter, craftsman and problem solver who took tremendous pride in his work and in developing others.

His impact reached well beyond Benchmark. Cliff was deeply involved with ABC Keystone, serving on its Board of Directors and as Chairman in 2012. He was instrumental in advancing apprenticeship training, strengthening the training facility and helping create greater opportunities for the next generation of craftspeople.

At Benchmark, that commitment helped develop numerous award-winning carpenters and, more importantly, generations of craftspeople who benefited from his mentorship, high expectations and tough-love approach. No other company in the Keystone chapter has more winners than Benchmark Construction.

Cliff cared deeply about the craft, the construction industry and the people who would carry it forward. His impact on Benchmark, ABC and the craft of carpentry will be felt for generations.

Rest in peace, Cliff. You will be deeply missed.
