No foam or plastic shower floors — just a traditional mortar shower pan built to properly manage water and last.

Subway tile has been a classic for decades—and for good reason. But changing the layout can completely transform the look.

This vertical installation with a 50% offset pairs beautifully with the hex marble shower floor, giving the shower a clean, custom feel without chasing trends.

The success of a custom tile shower starts long before the first tile is installed.

One of the most important steps is the pre-slope beneath the waterproof liner. It will never be seen again once the shower is finished, but it plays a critical role in helping water that reaches the liner find its way to the drain's weep holes.

This hidden detail can make the difference between a shower that lasts for decades and one that requires major repairs long before it should.

A beautiful shower is important, but what's underneath it matters just as much.

That's why I believe every custom shower should be built correctly from the subfloor up.

Would you choose classic subway tile or something more modern?

I've always liked the clean, timeless look of white subway tile. This bathroom features a subway tile tub surround, recessed niche, porcelain tile flooring, and a newly installed toilet. It's one of those styles that still looks just as good years later.

Another shower brought back to life.

This project started with extensive water damage, wood rot, and a failing shower. After removing the damaged materials and repairing the structure, I rebuilt it into a custom tile shower that's designed for long-term durability and everyday use.

I believe a beautiful shower should be built on a solid foundation. That's why I focus on doing the job right from the inside out—not just making it look good on the surface.
