This compressor is brand new and was supplied by the customer (purchased online). I understand the desire to save money — sometimes that works out well. In this case, the compressor came from an online pool supply company that does not specialize in HVAC equipment. This unit is a pool heater.
When an HVAC professional supplies the parts, they are typically purchased through a reputable HVAC distributor, come with a manufacturer warranty for a set period, and have technical support available so problems can be resolved quickly.
When customers provide their own parts sourced online from non-HVAC suppliers, it can create compatibility issues, warranty problems, and longer downtime. Just sharing a lesson from today.

Captain, we have a leak!

Refrigerant burst from the terminals on this compressor. Going to check warranty status when the supplier wakes up tomorrow and get some options to get this system back in service.

Today Lottie and I installed one of our newest offerings on our home system. I won’t ever sell something I don’t personally believe in!

It’s an APCO-X Comfort air treatment system. It kills germs in our home’s air and makes it smell nice and fresh.
