There are many names for this, I call it a dry sink. Others call it a dry well, rock sink, leach sink and probably many more that I have never heard. This technique is used for when you need drainage but don't have enough pitch to drain. Dig a hole, line it with filter fabric, fill it with clean rock, pipe it in, cover with fabric and bury! And Voila you have made a dry sink!!!!!

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: I thought I would touch on a subject that I see waaaaay too often (like just a few hours ago) .......if you are putting electrical conduit in the ground. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put the electrical caution tape ABOVE the conduit and not below like in this picture. It may save a life!....... luckily I was searching for the broken conduit with a shovel...
