Mini garden update! 🌿

I'm picking whatever I can from the garden lately, lots of tomatoes and the tastiest Yukon Gold potatoes! The cosmos are just stunning right now and the pollinators are loving them. 🐝

Reminder we're back at the TRF Farmer's Market this Saturday!

A little glimmer of joy this Monday evening comes from picking flowers while the deer watch on and graze in the yard. 🌸

Canned up two delicious recipes today for the upcoming markets!

My personal favorite, Zesty Red Onion Jelly (seriously, look how pretty!) AND a new salsa I'm calling MN Mild. Almost no heat, but still lots of fresh summer flavor. πŸ…

Little flower surprises. 🌼

This snapdragon decided to split colors on its blooms and be the best of both worlds. And this petunia self-seeded amongst my pepper plants (and weeds) in the greenhouse. I had this variety in hanging baskets last year so seeds must have fallen down and surprised me this year with this pretty little bloom. 🌸

A little behind the scenes of a cottage food producer.

If you asked me 4 years ago if I thought I'd be buying sugar and rolled oats in 50 lb quantities I would have laughed.....but here we are now. πŸ˜… A little Sunday prep making oat flour for dog treats and restocking the 5 gallon buckets I use for bulk storage.

Garden Update! 🌿

We've been really quiet lately, enjoying our market break, but wanted to still share the garden.

β˜€οΈ It has been an incredibly hot and dry summer for us. We haven't had more than a sprinkling of rain in over a month, so lots of watering the gardens to keep plants happy.
πŸ… The tomatoes and zucchini are absolutely thriving this year with the heat! Cherry tomatoes fresh from the vine can't be beat.
🌸 Flowers have been sporadic, but blooms are starting to increase. The dahlia tubers I stored from last year and replanted are blooming so I'm extra happy to see those again!
πŸ’ Chokecherries have been picked along our property, frozen for now until I decide what to make since we don't have enough to can jelly this year.

I'll be canning this Saturday and my favorite zucchini relish will be back again! Since we have an abundance of tomatoes, what would you like to see them canned into? 😊
