Sometimes the most unusual jobs can become the coolest. Assisting Cullen Pumpkin Farm with their windmill project was a highlight of this year. We were able to assist with the removal of the tower from the previous site, pour new foundations and facilitate erecting the tower on its new foundation. We didn't help with the last phase which included setting the top most portion of tower and the fan, but we had to be on site to witness.

I think all the good was gotten from these floor joists. The floor boards were holding them up. I once had an engineer talk to me about the "honeycomb effect" providing indirect structural support. This would be an example of that at work. (I personally think it was an excuse for missing a bearing wall that carried 30% of the roof load, but that's another story.)
There are now new joists here that will indeed keep the residents of this home on top of the porch for the forseeable future!
Everyone have a great Friday!
