If you live in an older Brookfield home, the electrical setup may have been sized for a very different set of needs. That can show up as flickering lights, breakers that trip when you run multiple appliances, or just a feeling that outlets and circuits are stretched thin.

A targeted panel and wiring upgrade improves safety, adds capacity for modern appliances, and makes future projects easier to complete. Alberts Electric provides electrical repairs, upgrades, and new-construction services for residential and commercial properties, and we focus on high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. We also handle troubleshooting and lighting installation for indoor and outdoor spaces.

An assessment will clarify whether a panel or selective wiring update is the right next step for your house and peace of mind.

Call (660) 675-0021 to schedule an electrical panel assessment.

Think more outlets are what cause electrical problems?

Outlets themselves don't create faults, issues usually come from improper wiring, incorrect load calculations, or a panel that's reached capacity. Adding outlets is safe when circuits, wire size, and panel capacity are assessed and upgraded if needed.

Alberts Electric handles panel and wiring upgrades and general electrical troubleshooting to make additions safe and reliable. We have a 5.0 rating and customers report high satisfaction with timely service and quality workmanship.

If you're planning outlets for new lighting or appliances, plan the wiring first.

Three quick checks to help you spot whether a tripping breaker is an overload or a short:

1. Reset the breaker and watch: immediate trips often point to a short or ground fault.

2. Unplug everything on that circuit, then reset, if it stays on, plug items back in one at a time to reveal an overload.

3. Think about recent changes (new appliance, outdoor tools, or wet conditions) that could explain the pattern.

4. Safe step to try once: unplug devices and reset the breaker one time; if it still trips, call a licensed electrician.

Older or undersized electrical panels can cause repeated problems, and they can be a safety concern. Spotting warning signs early helps prevent outages and costly fixes.

Three common signs your home may need a panel upgrade:

If you notice any of these, Alberts Electric handles troubleshooting and panel upgrades for residential and commercial properties to restore safe, reliable power.

1. Frequent breaker trips, circuits that trip often under normal use can indicate an overloaded panel or failing breakers; avoid repeatedly resetting and get it checked.

2. Flickering or dimming lights, steady flicker when appliances cycle can point to loose connections or insufficient panel capacity; this needs professional troubleshooting.

3. Planning to add major appliances or new circuits, if you’re adding big loads, your panel may not have the capacity and an upgrade can provide the extra circuits and safety margin.

Three quick signs your home needs an electrician right away, and simple checks to do first.

Alberts Electric handles panel and wiring upgrades, new-construction wiring, and general electrical troubleshooting, and has a 5.0 rating.

1. Frequent breaker trips on one circuit or the whole house, could be overloads or wiring faults.

2. Flickering or dimming lights, especially when appliances start, a loose connection or voltage issue.

3. Outlets that feel warm to the touch or smell faintly of burning, stop using them immediately.

4. Before you call: unplug devices on the affected circuit and see if trips stop.

5. Check for tripped GFCI outlets and try a reset (don’t open or tamper with wiring).

6. If an outlet is warm or you smell burning, stop using it and call a pro for a safe inspection.

If you notice any of these, call (660) 675-0021 for a safe inspection.
