🌱 Seeing more w**ds than usual lately? You’re definitely not alone!
We’ve had quite a few questions about why we’re seeing so much w**d pressure this late in the summer.
This year’s weather has been a little different. We started out with some pretty dry conditions, which can delay some w**d seeds from germinating. Then, as we started getting more moisture later in the season, those warm soil temperatures + moisture created some pretty good conditions for summer annual w**ds like crabgrass, spurge and purslane to take off.
On top of that, the dry start can stress the turf and make it harder for the grass to compete with newly germinated w**ds.
So if it feels like the w**ds are showing up all of a sudden, they kind of are! 😆 Some seeds have simply been waiting for the right conditions.
We’re continuing to keep an eye on what we’re seeing in lawns and adjusting our treatments as needed. Mother Nature definitely likes to keep us on our toes! 🌱☀️💦
