Built in place. Not dropped off a trailer. πŸ”¨

Every VistaScapes outdoor kitchen starts the same way: block laid by hand on a footing that carries the weight. Then brick around every corner and column. The grill, drawers and fridge get measured in as we build, not cut in after. Granite goes on last.

This one: Coyote grill, side burner and griddle.

Every time it rained, this whole yard drained toward the garage.

That's the part most people don't realize until it's too late. Water always goes to the lowest point. If the lowest point is your garage door, that's where it's going to sit.

Here's what we put in near Inola:

A trench drain across the low spot, with a concrete footer poured underneath it and steel rebar tied into the existing slab β€” so it can't settle away from the concrete beside it and leave you a lip.

18x18 catch basins set where the water actually collects, not where it looks tidy.

120 feet of new gutters, with the downspouts tied straight into the drain line instead of dumping at the foundation.

All of it piped underground and run out to pop-up emitters, carrying the water away to the lake.

And before any of it β€” the lines got marked. That was some of the hardest digging we've hit all year, and you still don't guess.

Drainage is the one people call us about after the damage. If water sits anywhere on your property after a rain, that's the whole warning you get.

Fall is the best time of year to build a backyard, and almost nobody knows it.

The ground is cooler and works easier, so the crew moves faster. Anything we plant has all winter to put roots down before it has to survive an Oklahoma summer. And the calendar is the real reason β€” the people who call us in October are the ones whose yards are finished by spring. The people who call in April are looking at a summer waiting list.

Patios. Pavilions. Pergolas. Outdoor kitchens. Fire features.

Right now the design consultation is free. We come out, walk the yard with you, and you get a real plan for the space β€” no obligation to build anything.

What would you put in your backyard first if you could only pick one?

10/05/2026

South Tulsa. This is what a backyard looks like the day before it gets its color.

Everything sitting in those pots goes in the ground this week β€” junipers, black-eyed Susans, coneflowers, lamb's ear, butterfly bushes, and hydrangeas on the far corner.

People think the planting is the easy part. It's the part that takes the most planning. Every pot is already set where it's going: spacing, mature size, sun and shade, and what blooms when β€” so the yard carries color from spring through fall instead of peaking for one week and going plain green for the rest of the year.

Big shout out to Vista Pools, who built this pool and referred us to this client. If you're looking for a pool, that's who we'd send you to.

And if your backyard has been on the list β€” it's plant season. Right now is the window.

Their retaining walls were railroad ties. They were rotting into the ground. πŸͺ΅

The edging was old brick, laid who knows when.

We pulled all of it out and rebuilt this backyard properly β€” Brittany Beige block for the terraces, six-inch Hackett stone with mortared joints for the edging. Everything re-graded, re-mulched and replanted around it.

Railroad ties rot. Stone doesn't.

6,000 square feet. One morning. β˜•

This South Tulsa property hadn't had its concrete stained in close to 20 years. We wrapped the driveway and the walkways in a few hours β€” this footage is the stain still fresh from that same morning.

Pool deck, cabana surround and the remaining sidewalks are next.

Staining is the cheapest way to make old concrete look new again. No tear-out, no replacement, no week of your driveway being unusable.
