This is especially important for members of the construction industry, as one out of every 25 construction workers have already been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease.

• Getting enough sleep, which helps prevent high blood pressure and other types of heart conditions
• Eating healthy to lower blood pressure and improve cholesterol levels

The annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction was held in early May this year, serving as an important opportunity for the construction industry to refresh our knowledge of fall protection.

Falls continue to be a leading cause of injuries in our field. Even if you are working at elevation every day, you must never get complacent about the risks associated with doing so. Always follow PPE/fall protection protocols such as using three points of contact when climbing, wearing appropriate footwear, inspecting fall arrest and fall restraint systems daily, and ensuring ladders and lifts are on solid ground.

Let’s keep safety top of mind and protect ourselves and our teammates—every step, every climb, every time.

Our company has been recognized by the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) for Safety Excellence and Zero Injuries!

Congratulations to our New Jersey district recognized for their outstanding safety achievements. They earned NECA’s 2025 Recognition of Achievement in Safety Excellence award as well as the Recognition of Achievement of Zero Injury Award!

“Every employee deserves praise, from the summer helpers to the Project Managers and everyone in between,” Huen Electric New Jersey Safety Manager Timothy Missel said. “Being able to achieve a calendar year with zero injuries shows everyone’s dedication to working safely and that the safety culture is strong within our organization. Most importantly, it means that a work-related injury did not impact our employee’s abilities to enjoy their time away from work with their family and friends.”

Both recognitions of achievement reflect the safety culture fostered and upheld by our committed management, supervision, and field staff, who prioritize safety alongside productivity in their daily work.
