Applying classroom learning to real-world scenarios.

For Kerith, this summer internship at Huen Electric is an opportunity to connect the classroom to the real world. He's eager to see how the concepts he's learned in school are executed on active projects while gaining experience with a company that has built a strong reputation in the industry.

We're excited to be part of Kerith's professional journey and look forward to seeing all he accomplishes during his time with our team!

“Having some fun together off site reminds us to plan, work, and look out for one another on the job every day.”

In light of this year’s Construction Safety Week theme “All In Together,” our employees gathered for Huen Electric’s Safety Day celebration. With food, vendors, and safety-oriented conversations, the day served as a great opportunity to come together and celebrate the value that lives at the heart of our company: safety.

Check out this video to get a glimpse into the event.

Happy Wednesday! Here is a :60 Seconds for Safety message, brought to you by Huen Electric and MYR Group Inc.

Safe equipment operation depends on focus, awareness, and communication. Eliminating distractions and staying mentally engaged in the task helps protect both you and those working around you.

To help you stay focused and operate equipment safely, utilize the PACE performance tools. PACE stands for “Preventing Accidents and Consequential Errors”.

Three of the PACE tools that may be most useful while operating equipment are:
✅ Self-check: Taking a moment to assess the situation helps keep your attention where it belongs
✅ Questioning attitude: Continuously evaluating your surroundings helps identify hazards
✅ Effective communication helps ensure everyone understands what is happening and what to expect.

Pride in the electrical construction industry is passed down through generations. That is why Huen Electric’s participation in Career Day was especially meaningful.

Regional Safety Manager Tim Missel had the opportunity to represent the company at his daughter’s school, answering students’ questions and sharing how electrical construction powers the communities where we live and work.

We’re proud to help spark curiosity and inspire future builders, leaders, and electricians. If you’re interested in joining our team, discover our career opportunities here ➡️ https://myrgroup.com/myr-group-electrical-construction-careers/

Happy Monday! Here is a :60 Seconds for Safety message, brought to you by Huen Electric and MYR Group Inc.

February is American Heart Month, a time for us to adjust our lifestyles to take better care of our bodies and increase our heart health. This is especially important for members of the construction industry, as one out of every 25 construction workers have already been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease.

This month, let’s support each other in taking steps to build heart-healthy habits into our days such as:

• Getting enough sleep, which helps prevent high blood pressure and other types of heart conditions
• Eating healthy to lower blood pressure and improve cholesterol levels
• Managing stress and being there for each other when stress levels are high

Happy Wednesday! Here is this week’s :60 Seconds for Safety message, brought to you by our parent company, MYR Group Inc.

Construction is an active line of work, and many of our daily tasks put us at risk for straining our bodies. Stretching regularly is an important component of staying healthy and reducing the risk of injuries from wear and tear.

Participate in your daily Stretch & Flex activity and continue to stretch periodically throughout the day, involving both static and dynamic stretches.

Stay safe, stay strong- take a few minutes to stretch and protect the body that powers your work.
