PSA: You don’t always need to move to get your dream home. Sometimes, you just need to reimagine the one you already have. 🏡

At Action Builders, we help Pittsburgh homeowners transform their existing homes through thoughtfully designed renovations and additions that make room for the way they actually want to live.

A bigger kitchen (like the one featured in this video). An open family room. A beautiful primary suite. More bedrooms. Better flow. More natural light. More space to gather, entertain, work, and grow.

Whatever your dream looks like, our team can help you figure out how to create it right where you are.

Meet Anthony, our Pella Windows and Doors rep and one of the trusted partners who helps us bring our clients’ visions to life!

At Action Builders, we believe a successful renovation or addition is about so much more than simply adding square footage. It’s about thinking through how your home will look, feel, function, and perform for years to come.

That’s why choosing the right windows and doors is such an important part of the process.

Pella offers a wide variety of window and door styles, materials, and design options, allowing us to find solutions that complement everything from the character of an older Pittsburgh home to a completely transformed, modern space. And with options designed around energy efficiency, durability, comfort, and performance, they’re about much more than just good looks. 🪟

Because when you work with Action Builders, you’re not navigating all of these decisions alone. We bring the right people to the table to help turn the home you have into the home you’ve been dreaming about. 🤍

Proof that you don’t always need an addition to make a BIG difference in the way your home looks and functions. 🙌

For this Mt. Lebanon kitchen renovation, we worked entirely within the home’s existing footprint… and made every inch count.

One of the biggest changes actually happened just outside the kitchen. By reframing the bedroom and hallway closet configuration, we were able to gain those few extra inches that made all the difference. That allowed us to fit both the refrigerator and a pantry cabinet in a much better location, improve the overall flow of the kitchen, AND make room for a peninsula with additional workspace and seating.

The homeowners chose a modern blue cabinetry that gives a subtle nod to the character and architecture of the home, while the crisp white keeps the entire space feeling bright, fresh, and updated.

That’s exactly what our design-build team at Action Builders loves to do: find creative ways to make your home work better for the way you actually live.

What if you could move into your new home… and have the renovation already done? That’s exactly what these Sewickley homeowners planned for.

Before moving in, we completely reworked the main level, including an enlarged kitchen, rearranged kitchen and dining spaces, a new home office, and improved flow throughout the house. We also moved windows, adjusted a powder room entrance, and had our masonry team patch the exterior brick so seamlessly that you’d never know the changes were made.

Upstairs, both bathrooms were transformed. The primary bathroom was enlarged by reworking the existing bathroom and closet, while two new closets were added on the opposite side of the bedroom. The hall bathroom was completely removed and replaced.

The homeowners closed on the house in October, completed their renovation from February through May, and were ready to move in by May/June.

That kind of timeline takes a LOT of planning… but we made it happen!

With Action Builders, you can complete the entire design phase before you even own the home, giving you a head start on the decisions and details. Once you own the house and sign your construction contract, we use the preconstruction period to finalize the project, coordinate permits, and get everything ready so construction can move efficiently.

Thinking about adding onto your home? 🏡

Before you start dreaming about more square footage, it’s worth asking one important question: Which home additions will give you the most value for your investment?

The best additions are the ones that solve a real problem in your home, improve the way your family lives every day, AND create spaces that future buyers are likely to value too.

Think:

✨ A larger, more functional kitchen
✨ A primary suite
✨ More family living space
✨ An additional bathroom
✨ A dedicated home office

Especially here in Pittsburgh, where so many older homes have smaller kitchens, limited bathrooms, and layouts designed for a completely different way of living, the right addition can completely transform a home… without giving up the neighborhood you already love.

Swipe through to see which home additions can offer some of the best ROI and why. ➡️

AI can do it a lot… But it’s NOT the same as using a professional interior designer when it comes to remodeling your home.

A real designer is thinking about the things AI can’t fully understand from a pretty picture:

✨ How your family actually uses the space
✨ What will realistically fit within your home’s existing footprint
✨ Structural and construction considerations
✨ Lighting, electrical, plumbing, storage + functionality
✨ How materials, finishes, and colors will work together in real life
✨ Your priorities and budget
✨ And all the tiny details you didn’t even know you needed to consider

So absolutely, bring us your Pinterest boards. Bring us your screenshots. Bring us the AI rendering you made at 11 PM because you suddenly decided your kitchen needs a giant island.

… But then let our design + construction team help turn that inspiration into a home design that actually works.

Our schedule at Action Builders is filling up fast in 2027 already! If a major renovation or addition is on your radar, get in touch with our team to talk and get on our waitlist today! We hope to hear from you soon! 🔨🏡
