Replacing rooftop units is one thing. Coordinating 22 RTU replacements while a roof is being replaced, managing road closures at a major intersection, installing new gas piping beneath a six-lane roadway, and keeping an educational facility operational throughout construction is another.
For this energy retrofit project, McCauley served as the design-build prime mechanical contractor, delivering a complete turnkey solution that included:
• Replacing 22 electric multizone units with VAV natural gas RTUs
• Installing a hybrid wired/wireless building automation system with energy monitoring capabilities
• Upgrading exhaust and cafeteria HVAC systems
• Coordinating construction activities across six consecutive weekends
The result: zero safety incidents, minimal disruption to facility operations, improved thermal comfort, and reduced energy consumption. Most importantly, the project demonstrated what can be accomplished when careful planning, collaboration, and ex*****on come together to solve complex facility challenges.
At McCauley, we don't just replace equipment—we help our customers modernize critical building infrastructure while maintaining business continuity.
