We’ve promised we’d announce the changes here at EL when we could and now is the time.
As many of you know Tyler Parker has been promoted to foreman. Due to his particular situation and career path he skipped the “training foreman” step. He didn’t need that transition period with his experience level.
So, what’s new? Some GCs have speculated and their intuition was correct!
Brian Hunnings has now accepted the position of Project Manager/Commercial Estimator. Brian has previously been an estimator for Ernie and we knew when we hired him as a senior foreman this would be his landing spot. We just didn’t know when the workload, timing, and financial logistics of things would allow for the transition to happen. Honestly he didn’t even know it was “his plan” until the last few months…he may have had suspicions though (let’s be honest Brian is considered our resident genius over here. We’re not sure if his or Bubys IQ is higher🤣)
We anticipate this change to clean up some material issues, alleviate some “spreading thin issues” on Ernie and Joseph, provide support to the foreman/senior foreman with materials, and also take some tasks off of Beth.
Currently we are thankful to be able to consume another indirect labor position. Everyone please congratulate Brian! He seems VERY eager to convert back to indirect and provide office support as well as fill some much needed gaps. This was a UNANIMOUS decision made by everyone in the company and everyone is very supportive.
Also, Brian said the transition has hit pretty hard and quick this week as he’s lined up to bid a job next week, spent some time with Ernie today going over jobs, and also had to plot one job that is already underway today. If you know we don’t give you much time to transfer into new roles around here😂
If you’re wondering why we’re sitting at our dining table even when we have office space allocated?? The answer is we remain and always will be a family owned small business that requires everybody to accept our kiddo and puppies driving you crazy while you work. It’s part of the job description around here🤣. (Truth is our work family loves us, feeling at home, and our welcoming atmosphere)
