Welcome back, Julian Curtiss School!
We're proud to celebrate the completion of the newly renovated cafeteria, the third of four phases of improvements designed by Antinozzi Associates. The project will streamline service, reducing lunch waves by half to help ensure all students can enjoy lunch...at lunchtime.
Working within a historic 1946 school building while maintaining operations required months of planning to achieve results in only 60 working days of construction this summer. The results speak for themselves, delivering both beautiful aesthetics and meaningful functional improvements.

Welcome back educators, and students! As everyone begins a new school year, we’re highlighting Washington Elementary School, which opened its doors last school year and introduced a learning environment designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and imagination.

Washington Elementary Principal Alicia Limosani offered her thoughts as they start year two: “It feels good to have set down our roots and be ‘home.’ We loved our new school from day one and are looking forward to lots more good learning and making memories. It promotes a positive mindset. It’s a bright, colorful, and beautiful school where all students can learn socially, emotionally, and academically.”

The school’s concept brings a vibrant, abstract sense of the cosmos into each space. Bold color palettes become more than just a visual element—they serve as a wayfinding tool, helping students navigate the school while creating a playful glow that extends to the exterior of the building. The design embraces the creative and imaginative spirit of its students, creating an environment where exploration is encouraged and possibilities feel limitless.

The 1970s marked the beginning of a strong professional relationship between Antinozzi Associates and the City of Bridgeport.

During the decade, we had the opportunity to work on two of Bridgeport’s iconic landmarks: the Bridgeport Train Station and the conversion of the original Central High School to the now City Hall.

These projects marked the start of a shared commitment to preserving and strengthening Bridgeport’s architectural landscape culminating in 2007 when we moved our office to Bridgeport’s historic Bijou Theater.

The 1970s marked a new era of collaboration and innovation in K-12 educational design in Connecticut.

One of the defining projects of the decade for Antinozzi Associates was Pomperaug Regional High School, serving the communities of Southbury and Middlebury. Programmed, designed, and constructed in the 1970s, this 175,000-square-foot facility was intentionally positioned across the Southbury–Middlebury town lines, a symbolic reflection of the partnership between the two communities of Regional School District 15, formed in the late 1960’s.

The school’s design included an indoor greenhouse, a 1,000-seat auditorium, and learning spaces that supported a well-rounded and modern educational experience. The early 1960s brought tremendous growth to communities across Connecticut, creating a need for public schools that could serve expanding student populations. Completed in 1961, Bunnell High School in Stratford was designed to meet that challenge. With modern classrooms and specialized learning spaces, the project reflected a new era in educational design.
