Most people think tick season ends with summer. It does not.
Adult deer ticks have a second peak in the fall. It runs from late September into November, and the UMaine Cooperative Extension Tick Lab puts the high point in late October. That is the same stretch when everyone is back outside raking leaves, hauling brush and letting the dogs in and out all afternoon.
Here is the part that surprises people. Deer ticks are not living in the middle of your open, sunny, mown lawn. They are along the shaded, brushy edges of it. The stone wall. The treeline. The leaf piles. The spot where the mower stops.
That is where we focus, and it is why edge work matters more than blanket coverage.
We have organic options on our tick programs, and this is the time of year they line up best.
20% off your program through September 30, and $50 on top of that if you are switching to us.
