The Power Shift is a Paradigm Shift. Change in our power structure is happening all around us. While deniers claim that a conversion to renewable energy either isn't possible or is decades in the future, it is happening before their eyes. I hope this page reflects my excitement as I see the pace of change in a continuing state of acceleration. This is going to happen faster than anyone thinks it w
ill. When the Mac was introduced in 1984, few dreamed that the Internet was only 10 years away. When Wilbur and Orville Wright made their first flight at Kitty Hawk, in 1903, I doubt if anyone predicted that men would be walking on the moon 66 years later. Changing from one form of electrical generation or transportation is not nearly as complicated as either of these feats. In an electronically connected world change can happen even faster. The economics of fossil fuels doom them to the scrap heap, at least as fuels; they are far more valuable as materials. It will never get cheaper to operate a nuclear power plant, mine coal, or drill for oil & gas than it is today. As these prices continue upward, the price of renewable energy generation continues to drop. There are a lot of brilliant people all over the world working to accelerate us into a world of abundant clean energy.
